What did you do to/with your Becker today?

I used my BK9 as a sizing reference for my Magforce Super Falcon for fellow members after remembering that Maxpedition only have the Falcon II and Pygmy Falcon.

Found a unopened bottle of apple cider vinegar thats expired but instead of throwing it away, I left my BK14 to soak overnight. Was happy to be advised by fellow member to use natural harmless resources to treat the blade instead of using gun bluing paste as i have intention to use it to prepare food and process game in the future. In case you are wondering why i have a wrap and rubber band on that bottle, the smell was too much to bare for my wife and the dogs in the kitchen .. hehe

tried pressing a kydex sheath for my BK14 today .. left it in the car thou .. will post photo tomorrow.

been at it since Saturday, finished last night, carrying it today. Gave my 2 a revision: originally, I cut off the nylon belt strap and attached a tek lok to it, then fabbed a kydex altoid fire kit carrier. But this setup rode too high at the waist, uncomfortable when sitting at a car as the handle pushed too much against the seat and the belt. Decided to move the tek lok to scout carry and found out the screws kept turning with the posts. Tried to pinch them with thin pliers, also tried to lever under the lip of the post with a screwdriver...no luck, I don't remember but I may have loctited those bastards. 2 minutes with the angle grinder gave me back my tek lok. The stock plastic removable piece was discarded, red posts were added to the front, tek lok in scout position, stainless hardware and Beckerhead sticker. Tried the new position at crossdraw from front left (been dropping a lot of weight lately and the size reduction at the gut helps) and it rides PERFECT now.

I used my BK11 to slice up some chicken.

I just really enjoy using sharp knives. Dull knives can be dangerous sometimes, and it drives me crazy to see how my wife, my (visiting) sister, or my mother in law sometimes grab the Henkels and then use the granite as a cutting board... I know that knife is going to take time to resharpen, and it will just be dull in 1-2 days anyway. No respect for the blade. I've given up, so now I sometimes sneak my Beckers in/out of the kitchen. OCD, I know, but it is what it is.

Just did a new kydex sheath for my 14 .. kinda like the blade look for now and will keep that funny looking patina for a while more before experimenting with something else.

Used my BK11 to cut some maple limbs to brush in my position while duck hunting a river. Then after I was home the BK11 was used to slice Wood Duck breast hot off the grill.

I put a new edge on my 11, it wasn't staying very sharp for very long I think because the stock sheath had gotten a bit loose and it had room to shift around in my pocket allowing the edge to rub on the sheath. I also made it a new sheath out of kydex. I believe it's .06" which is thin but it's all I had. Some time I'll get some thicker stuff and make one from that. I've made other kydex sheaths but they were all with the scales on and I don't carry it with them anymore because they were too bulky for my pocket. I also stuck this coyote paracord lanyard on there today.

The sheath could still use a bit of fine sanding around the edges but it works for now. Sorry for the poor quality pictures.

I prefer thicker kydex as it retain heat better and do not flex as easily. I'm working with whatever I can find in the shop and will try look for more color choice soon

I will complete the final finish polishing of three modded 16s, 14 and an 11 then continue making scales for all five.

will leave out the "sensitive" details and pics but drinking coffee on back pourch and decided what i was gonna have for lunch...
