What did you do to/with your Becker today?

I was out working on the "tree fort" with my 12 (RSK MKII ;)) today. Used it to trim up some cuts I made installing railing and also to pry staples out of wood.

Contrast to how the woods looked a month ago (pretty much the same vantage point):

Used the 9 to cut down a 4inch dia dead Austrian pine. Damn pine sap. Had to use goo gone to clean the blade.

Made 3 D-rings, for drop leg swivel set ups for my daughters BK-9, my BK-20 & her tweeners (BK-16 & 17). I do this with most all my knife sheaths. Makes them 1000% more outdoor/wearable friendly, IMHO.

They will be used soon. Daughter has her first camping trip with college friends soon. We will see if I taught her well when it comes to using her smarts, camping, knife skills, cooking outdoors. She knows enough not to mix knife handling w/alcohol, or letting her college friends play with her knives or throw them. But I also know kids will be kids. Looking forward to her after camp report ! lol

Learned how to take & post pics with this newfangled smart phone tonight. Gotta admit, pretty cool & easy.

Processed wood and other camp tasks with my Becker today and last couple of days. And as tradition (or always asked) some photos below:

Did a 5 day trip in the BWCA with the 16. Did more fishing then catching. :D

Great trip.

Man, I love this 17. I think I'll be posting here more often

Finished my mods on my 16.

Stripped the blade flats, leaving the coating under the scales.

Added yellow liners.

Patina'd the blade to a nice deep black!

Yes that is correct. The blade in this pic has no coating!

If yah don't mind me asking what did you use/do to get it that dark

I filled a large pickle jar with cider vinegar. Took the scales off and let the knife sit in the vinegar for 20-30 minutes. Took it out and kept it moving in front of a running fan until it had air dried. Repeated the process about a half dozen times and voila!

Yes...this^^^
I've found that the patinas darken the best from drying not soaking. I discovered it from attempting patterns and noticed the dark pattern came from drying around the solids in whatever i was using. I got a real cool pattern with vinagroon soaked toilet paper, stuck to the blade, and it crinkled up as it dried so I let it completely dry. Got all rusty, no biggie,it came off.

The 12 developed some cool red veins. Both of these pics are after full cleanup, steel wool, and mineral oil.
