What did you do to/with your Becker today?

Started abusing my new BK-3 I got at the Gathering - thank you Ethan and Ka-Bar! - by digging some with it. This thing is beastly.

That doesn't look up to code sir...

There's still a code? Holyshiwhutthefu......

I thought they cracked that thang with ENIGMA already, like in the 40's....

OK, but seriously - I get it...and you're probably right - but I don't think I really need to know what the code is since I didn't pull a permit. Plus, the wires were already in the ground that way when we bought the house - and the previous guy MUST have known what he was doing since he put them in.....and he OBVIOUSLY had to get a permit to do that, so.... I figger I'm grandfathered in! Besides, I'm not likely to set my pool on fire.....am I?

Nah you're good.
As s long as it's gfci protected and minimum 12" depth.
Grandfather clause doesn't matter if you touched/altered it last!

Your secrets safe with me 😉

I used my BK2 for some friction fire practice. This one was sycamore on eastern hemlock, my 7th unique wood combination.

Had it come in the mail on tues from REDBEARDROB ( thanks again!!) Was putting it to work on Thursday skinning out the first muzzle-loader doe of the season.

Used my BK11CSM to baton some firewood to get some smaller stuff for a chiminea at a non-knife guys house today.
He couldn't get the fire going, so I was forced to step in. When the Misses asked him if he wanted her to get it lit, he looked at her like she was crazy... She smirked and said "I have my lighter right here." while pointing at me.

Such is the life of a Beckerhead.

Hahaha. Nice!

Dead phone, no pics, but clubbed two logs until one was the perfect size for clubbing, and the other one was a bunch of feather sticks that became ashes.
It's like meditation and is relaxing as heck.

The cool thing is I've been cleaving firewood like this all summer, and the blade is still sharp enough to make nice feather sticks.
The only touch-up to the edge was three passes with a smooth river stone (which had little effect, to be honest).

Glad to hear it has been working hard for you.

A tip, if I may?
Take two river stones and a few drops of water and rub the stones together to create a slurry and see if that helps. The slurry will be made up of very fine silicates and this will do the cutting, not a small contact area on the stone face.
You can even use a flattened surface of a piece of wood to some affect if the stone doesn't work as well.
