What did you do to/with your Becker today?

my bk11 was on breakfast duty this morning. Sliced up my avocado and boiled egg for toast in the office.

Hahaha I thought that said "sliced up avocado and boiled for for toast in the COFFEE." LMAO

I work nights and it's late for me. Gimme some slack. Haha

I took off the scales on my BK10 and cleaned it all up with the intent to make white liners (that black-on-black DISAPPEARS in a dark campsite).
Total lack of forethought that the paracord lanyard I put on permanently would have to be cut apart to get the liners on.
'Guess the liners will wait a bit...

If they're thin and flexible you could just cut them at the lanyard hole and pop them around the lanyard. Once the scales are on ya may not even notice the cut spot.

True, but it's hard to get a good outline tracing of the scale with that lanyard in the way!

Tried my BK-5 and my hand at making a tart from winter apples from the back yard. My first attempt at such a dish. Tastes great, so we must have managed a passing score.

Helping itself to a hot dog, looks like....

Unless you're working with some kind of g10 for liners, just mark and drill (or punch) the holes, put them on and trim in place. More perfecter than tracing.....with the added benefit, for the AR, that you can spend plenty of time with a knife slicing away ever tinier slivers making them fit just right.

I took a '9 out when I checked my pig traps this morning. They were all empty. Again. I used the '9 to cut a stick to flick poop off the farmers access track after my dog deposited it. The BK9s chop really well. When I set the traps on the previous day, I had an unbranded 14 inch machete with me. I use a machete instead of a '9 when I know I have to deal with a lot of spikey vines, especially if I want to cut them near the rocky ground.

I would have thought that this machete would have been better for chopping than my '9, especially the thinner, springier forms of brush. I figured that the thin blade and the higher potential speed of the lighter tool would cause it to fly through the thin wood. But I don't think it is appreciably better. I will still use the machete though, because if I'm going to accidentally whack a rock it isn't such a big deal to ding a cheap machete.
