What did you do to/with your Becker today?

Got my first 9 in the mail today - a neused Camillus version. Has lots of sheath wear on the off side of the blade and on the left handle, a dinged pommel and use wear on the blade coating. But the knife is AWESOME. Batoned through a 3 inch Pecan log that has been seasoning for over a year and it went through like the log was butter. Took a couple of whacks to bust through a limb knot, but no problems. The camo kydex sheath that came with it has a tek-lok fitting on the back, but does not hold the knife in very well. If a little heat-gun surgery doesn't fix that, I guess I'll try my hand at BK9 sheath making.

Tonight I cut the tags off a new pair of running shoes.

My current pair still has a little bit of life left at almost 375 miles, but I found some new ones on sale.

Added a little wrappage to my 11 and a new neck lanyard, black beads that came with threaded through gutted paracord.

Looked at it in my bag...

Been working as an office monkey for a few weeks and haven't been able to do much.

Really need to touch up the blade since batoning through a bumpstop extension and knicking the edge up pretty good.

Been a while since I updated the thread...
Over the weekend I had some free time so I added some stippling for grip, ground in a finger choil for detail work, ground out some damage I did while batoning with a hammer (bad idea), and honed.

Added some ESSE Izula scales to my 24 yesterday.(they were a pain in the ass to get on)

Added some flair to my 710 sheath and 9 by adding some KA-BAR micarta, SS hardware and a braided lanyard with a matching braided dummy cord last week.

I used my BK5 to slice up some smoked saugage and threw it in a pot with some red beans and rice.(The sausage...not the knife.):D

Last fall, during a big windstorm, a viney maple lost a good-sized branch that fell on top of the chain link fence in the playground where my kids play.
Been eyeing that obstruction for awhile now. It was laying across one of the picnic tables and generally getting in the way.
I finally decided to do something about it.
Took my brand new Bahco Laplander and BK9 to the thing.
Sawed the branch into 12-14" sections, then, just for the heck of it, batoned each one down into kindling.
A few other parents showed up and gave me some weird looks as I was beating on my ginormous knife with a stick!
Finally, one of them came over and thanked me for removing the branch...I think she just wanted a closer look at The King.

It didn't happen today. But over the weekend I cut down an evergreen tree that simply wouldn't turn green.

I, too, am an office monkey, so my 14/24 spend a lot of lonely time in the pocket. I find all sorts of stupid ways to justify using a knife.

- Screw the staple remover; I'm going to pop that thing out with a lil 1095
- Batoning through apples. Yep.
- Any random cutting task in the office, even for my co-workers is "Back up. I got this." Bam! BK14 to the rescue.

Figured out that my 2 hasn't been getting sharp because a 20° angle looks way steeper than it is.

Gotta angle to the bevel, not the spine
