Alchemy of course. But a clearer explanation is that I am a drug designer and investigator on the research side of a very small start-up pharmaceutical company which nobody has ever heard of Yet.

Ahh..what pays the bills...I'm a Senior Agent in the Loss Prevention/Security Department for a major Dept. store..Essentially, I do a lot of shoplift arrests, even more dishonest employee investigations, and even more meaningless paperwork...

24 years in the Air Force. Maintenance Superintendent of a squadron that test launches Peacekeeper and Minuteman ICBMs.

I am a Mechanical Engineer working for a car magazine. I'm in charge of track testing, data logging etc and I also write not only technical but all sorts of feature articles.

Right now I'm the Director of Development for a prep school in upstate New York. That means I design and coordinate capital fund campaigns, create recruiting brochures, schmooze with "big" donors, help people put the school in their wills, etc. My training and experience, though, is in music. I think one day (probably soon) I'll be back in the music room somewhere teaching band and choir. That's what I really know how to do.

I do research on technology for deaf people, mostly in television captioning research, TTY communication, speech recognition, and multimedia applications. .... been doing it 27 years.

I'd prefer to be a full time knife maker, but I also prefer to eat, so I'll stick with my current job.

To pay the bills, I work as a lab tech at the local neighborhood blood bank. To pay my conscience, I write adult erotic stories for local skin mags.

Of course this is just practice until I finish my Great American Novel, which, BTW, will include plenty of knives!
