Awww, I don't think I'm that overworked....Let's see emigrated to US 10 years ago got BA in Political Science (what the .. ) work as a paralegal now (thought of it as a stepping stone to becoming a lawyer but after learning the ropes I see now that lawyers are overworked, psychotic scum of the earth,- so decided that this is not for me) now about to take a GMAT to get into school for MBA in finance or accounting.
Where in Bama?I grew up in Alabama, graduated high school, and then went to boot camp 2 weeks later. I was originally gonna be a Marine but the Navy scalped me off him.. My recruiter basically said this "You wanna stare at sand and only sand while getting shot at? Or you wanna stare at the ocean and occasionally get off in dope ports while you bomb people from afar?" I chose latter (made my mom feel better too lol). I was an ABH on the BHR & Essex. Crash and Salvage (qualified for the rest of those stupid turtlenecks too)
After my 6 I couldn't figure out what to do really so I started framing houses (nice skill to know) full time. Got a little bad on the drinking and fighting. So I did that for a while while until I chose something.
Moved around a bunch after that trying to chill out a bit (still working on that honestly).. then finally ended up settling in Little Rock. Well not anymore.. just bought a house on the outskirts.
Went to Automotive Tech school and now I've been working as an Automotive Tech for a little over 3 years now since I finished school.
You gotta beat a clock for your money, but if you're faster than the clock life is pretty good. Haven't done anything stupid/violent in a few years so that's progress.
I will probably die in this house now so only people getting any wrath are gonna have to come looking for it. I generally like being left alone.. and it's easy in this little nowhere town.
Here's hoping the whole shebang doesn't implode soon. I don't wanna have to do anything about it. If I do (and people like me) people are gonna regret all this shit.
Hope the best for all you guys. Genuinely had a good time learning more about yall. Funny, I went in expecting to read short little quips. I got to read 8 pages of cool. Made my off day coffee that much more enjoyable.
Be easy fellas
(Wow.. this is like 8 years old. Hadn't noticed lol)
A little nowhere town outside Gadsden named Glencoe. It's roughly 45 minutes to an hour above Birmingham.Where in Bama?
I feel like I've already met you. You talk like my family back home (makes sense why lol). Ya gotta have the fatback in there or it ain't the good stuff.Another Alabama boy here. Grew up in a family of cotton mill hands in Tallapoosa County, my grandparents were sustenance farmers. My parents saw education as the way out for me and my sister, demanded excellence from us and raised two valedictorians. I thank them for the lectures and butt kickings.
Got an EE degree from Auburn University the hard way, working summers and weekends, commuting the 24 miles from home. After two years awarded an Air Force ROTC scholarship, which paid for my last two years of college. Lost out on commissioning because of back surgery after a summer construction job accident. Cried like a baby that day because that is where I had seen my future.
Went to work for Alabama Power Company where during a short stint in Selma I met the love of my life and we celebrated our 50th in July. Moved to Birmingham with APCo, picked up an MBA at UAB and retired from management at age 55 with enough funds to buy a knife or gun if I really want it, and we manage to afford to put a piece of fatback in with the greens now and then.
