What do y'all do for a living?

I'm familiar with Gadsden and been through Glencoe a few times, I live up in the quad cities/Florence area these days

Let's see emigrated to US 10 years ago got BA in Political Science (what the .. ) work as a paralegal now (thought of it as a stepping stone to becoming a lawyer but after learning the ropes I see now that lawyers are overworked, psychotic scum of the earth,- so decided that this is not for me) now about to take a GMAT to get into school for MBA in finance or accounting.

I'm the aforementioned "overworked, psychotic scum of the earth." But really just running out the clock until I can get Medicare so I can become the underworked well-adjusted scum of the earth.

God damn my original post did not age well. So here is an update. After taking GMAT and receiving an unsatisfactory score and some hard soul searching I decided to become a lawyer after all. LOL.. Long story short I am currently in my fourth year of law school (I had to do it part-time in the evenings so I can still toil away as a full-time paralegal so I can support my two kids and pay the mortgage - fun times) - if all goes well and I pass the bar this summer I will become the aforementioned scum of the earth aka Mr. Rich Bottomfeader (a lawyer from Spongebob - his name cracks me up every time). Seriously though, I will stand by my integrity and hope to do good in this world.

Jack of all trades and a master of none.🤣 For the past 3 years I have been a case coordinator in a home care agency. It's been very rewarding helping people that didn't know that they had the benefits available to them.
For you Alabama guys, I used to live there in the mid 80's down in the SE area...Enterprise and Daleville. Nothing like Southern hospitality. :)

Full time Stay at Home Dad.
Sometimes pronounced teacher, and/or housekeeper.
Also a semi-pro knife sharpener (time permitting).

4 years ago we had a son, just 25 years after our daughter was born.
When our daughter moved out on her own a few years ago I guess we finally had a lot time on our hands :)

In the past I spent years as a diesel mechanic and later as a warehouse and facilities manager.

I work as an assistant principal at a middle school. I know it sounds crazy but I love what I do, er… most of the time. I get to help kids navigate one of the hardest, smelliest, most awkward times in everybody’s life. And I get to help parents when their kid is struggling. Part, therapist, part social worker, part bouncer, part janitor, and master educator. And I get to do all of this for the same amount it costs to buy a new F150 (but not the lariat or king ranch editions).😀

Good luck to you. I know a lot of lawyers who really love the work and find it personally fulfilling. I wish I were one of them. Either that or rich enough to quit.
