what do you carry with you sebenza

It's a limited edition January 2003, Benchmade 335, Mel Pardue frame lock with a Ti frame and D2 blade. I really like it. It cuts like crazy and it's very thin, and light weight. Its also a fine money clip.

I often carry this little guy with my seb...A Peter Atwood Skeeter neck knife, 154CM, this is good for the public scenes where even a classy small sebenza is too scary for the sheeple...lol...:D

By the way, off topic, but I find myself cuttign the whole top off of packages to avoid cuttign through the tape, I just ahte trying to get that sticky packing tape glue off the seb's blade...Anyone else?

My EDC:

Small Classic Sebenza
Casio G-Shock watch ( nothing fancy...Nice watches usually get destroyed by me!)
Gerber Compact Sportsman or Leatherman Wave
SAK of some type

Oh, yeah!...and my Blackberry, which I refer to as the "dead albatross" that hangs around my neck 24 hours a day!

Acetone takes it right off. I keep some with my sharpening stuff to wipe Sharpie ink off the edges, so it's usually handy.

I'll play... pic taken today during the afternoon walk. I'm light traveler - so only Sebby, sheath and watch.

RNST,... it seems our tastes are at least somewhat similar because I too usually carry an L4 and a Seb. Maybe you can help.

Thing is, I'm a bit on the fence about purchasing another watch. Specifically an SAR, the automatic/non tritium version of your TSAR. I suppose enough things would relate between the two to make a comparison valid. So overall how do you like them? Think the auto is worth the money? Is the bracelet as good as everyone says?

The biggest points for me at this time are....
-Very sturdy bracelet, prefer screws to pins. Solid end links are a must.
-Automatic
-Fairly conservative/classic diver styling, you can see the two Seikos I've posted, then the Marathon SAR would be in that realm.
-Tough as nails
-Reputable brand
- <or= SAR price

The black monster seems like a good compromise and a great deal. I'm just not quite sure about its appearance and I already have two Seikos.

The Sumo is nice too but again, I already have two Seikos!

As far as my searching has led me, the SAR seems to be about the best deal going that meets my criteria. The only reason that holds me back (well besides coughing up the cash), is the height of the bezel. Some have called it the "pie pan" effect.

Maybe some of ya'll could suggest a few different brands to search? Either that or tell me to shutup and get the SAR!

Thanks for the help.

Lots to consider and I think it might be a good idea to check out www.militarymorons.com It's a very good site and there are some unbiased reviews of hard use gear including the Marathon Watch used by both Canadian and US Military operations in Afghanistan and Iraq.

I bought the quartz version mainly on the recommendation of the seller who felt overall it was a more accurate watch than the automatic version and I have to agree. I got mine in July and every week I check it out versus www.time.gov and my watch is within ONE second of Universal co ordinated time.

The one I got has the metal bracelet and its by far the nicest I have owned and it really compliments the watch. The watch itself is definitely heavier than the Seiko dive watches I have owned. You know you have your Marathon on your wrist; but after a few days you hardly notice it at all. I highly recommend the Tritium; you can see it in very low light conditions. Pie Pan? Well maybe but beauty is in the eye of the beholder and this is a Man's watch. :D Too bad its government issue and you cant go down to Zales to have a closer look at it.

I bought mine off a seller 'off' ebay and we worked out a deal to reduce his costs and mine. I chose a seller who had over 800+ sales with a 100% rating and he was first class. PM me if you want his contact information.

RWS, nice combo. what handgun is that?

Great thread! I do have a bone to pick with Ikarus however.....before this thread I did not know what a McGizmo light was....now, with my wallet lightened somewhat, I have one on the way! :D I will have to post pics hopefully next week when it arrives with my other edc gear.
