What do you carry?

Here's a really crappy picture of the extremely nice little knife Nasty mentioned above.

and another...

It's a fixed blade made by Louis Vallet that just happens to double for scalpel duty after it's latest sharpening. :D The sheath was made by someone here on bladeforums, I don't remember his name at the moment. It's a nice little knife, just one that I handn't used for a while. Now I have the nicest BGRS villager in the whole wide world instead, so I'm happy with the trade. Thanks again Nasty. :)

Camillus Lever Lock tanto.

Cold Steel Voyager 5".

HI Sarge.

HI JKM-1.

Blackie Collins Folding Razor Knife- great light design, holds spare blades.

Schrade multi tool.

Opinel, Heinkel Hobo, SAK.

Folding hacksaw. Don't laugh. You might NEED a small hacksaw.

I thought that little blade was so cool! The sheath was beautiful and really went well with the knife.

Also, I have also been meaning to mention on the forum how wonderful that run of 15" Ganga villagers was also. I just loved everything about those. The size, weight, handles were perfectly done. Just a great all around khuk!

That concludes todays history lesson. In my left front pocket I've got an EKA 88, in my right front a SAK and the keys to my wife's Civic/ ASP sapphire LED, right cargo pocket- Marlboro Milds and Bic lighter, back left- wallet/chain, shirt pocket- two rollerball pens, house/VW key/ Streamlight keymate on carabiner/ beltloop, left wrist- Goofy watch that runs counter clockwise, left hand- wedding ring, neck- dreamcatcher necklace, nipples- 10ga captive ball rings (is that TMI?). I think that's it.

As far as I recall they were Hindu stranglers most closely associated with Kali worship (thugee) as opposed to the Hassasahin (sp?) who were Islamic assassins oft inspired by hashish dreams of paradise (and more mundane economic and political goals of their leaders I'm sure).

I prefer to carry a Spiderco Howard Vele (or Schrade LB7 for the woods) that I picked up at the NY blade show some years back. Beautiful action and extremely sharp. It's a lot of knife for the office though, so I sometimes have to settle for my SAK.

That's what I get for posting before my first cup of coffee :footinmou

I always have a khuk or a hatchet in my pack when I leave the house, depending on what I might be doing that day.

Sometimes its work, sometimes it play! :)

other than that I usually have a SAK, old benchmade cqb something (or akershaw leek), and a busse sfno on me.

got an edc graham bros. razel on order. The idea is that it will replace any need I have for a pocketknife.

Even if it doesn't, it is a great excuse for more steel. :D

Benchmade 942 is my EDC. I'm also very fond of the Victorinox Rucksack. It'll be going with me to the coast this weekend, along with plenty of other pointy objects for camp duty.

My EDC is a Myerchin w/ a marlin spike.

Great utility knife.

That's the second marlin spike... besides pulling apart knots, what use are these? I'm a boater and I don't even need a marlinspike.... they must have some other, darker purpose.

Think 'torture knife for the eyes.' ;)

Actually I use it mostly to make starter holes for screws and nails. Works like a charm. That and the occasional tricky knot, and also as a makeshift prybar for small tasks.

The other nice thing about the knife itself is the taper on the back of the spine of the blade. It fits great in most flat head screws. I don't do it often, but have ever tightened up the alarming loose screw.

Spyderco Ladybug, Leatherman Squirt blue, Spyderco Delica in pockets

If I need it, Spyderco Native III and Leatherman Juice orange in belt sheaths

Fixed carry in my truck, CRKT F4, Crawford Falcon fixed, Kabar shorty tanto

I carry different knives, but the ones above are in my main rotation. Use the multitools the most.

Where can I get me one of those plasma rifles?

You're in good company with that Spydie. I think that Howard Wallace carries dual Delicas.

:) ;)

I'm kidding. I just wanted to use the word "thug" in a sentence this morning.

I did carry 2 Delicas for quite a few years. I had some training with Eric Remmen a number of years back and he sold me on the idea of two knives.

Mostly now I carry a Gunting. It is designed to be legal most places. If blade length is not an issue I have left and right handed large sebenzas.

Sometimes a 340pd.

And of course my rumal. ;)

Manix, but I'm having second thoughts about S30V. I like everything about it except for that stainless. Still being evaluated. If Sal ever decides to sell one of these with a differentially hardened 1095 blade, I will get rid of the rest of my folders (and probably a few of my fixed blades as well) and not look back.

Opinel #8 just about everywhere I go. It gets used the most. I should probably buy some more of these now that I'm a little handier working with wood. Those handles don't look half bad when you dress them up a bit.

Okapi on the keychain. It's slightly too long to be legal for work but whenever someone sees it, they immediately get too caught up with the wood handle and the metal inlay to worry about the blade. Cool lock on it too but it shuts like a guillotine and never fails to frighten me. I get a lot of positive comments about this one's appearance. What other carbon steel folder looks this cool, works this well, and retails for $10? (Don't say Opinel - they don't look cool.)

Beat-up Leatherman on its second tour of duty. (It's a DRMO refugee.) I think there's a knife blade on it somewhere. It's taken over prybar duties since I retired the Voyager.

HI Kerambit in my LBV. Prybar, hammer, boat anchor, and knife - all rolled into one conveniant package. If it had a bottle opener on it I wouldn't carry anything else. (If one is careful, a sharp upwards strike will safely remove the entire end of the bottle, effectively opening it...we'll call that the Satori Method. I do not consider this a bottle opener however.)

BTW, that little knife RR had was one of the coolest things that I've ever seen.

I live in Cali, so I carry a:

Glock 27 or 23C or 20 & a Mission MPF-1 all titanium folder & Surefire flashlight. :D

Never know when you might get attacked by a group of mutant zombie hookers.

It seems like most of us here carry folders. Where's Yvsa? I wonder what he's carrying. I know he's partial to fixed blades.
