I drive a dodge caravan but my "car" is a 95 s-10 short bed with a very custom 5.7 vortec built and wired and tuned by me, a 02-05 vortec harness running off a OBD-1 16197427 PCM tuned with scannerpro all by me, dyno's at 377whp/410tq and still gets 18mpg. Oh its also got a 8.8 ford w/ 3.73's and a 4L65E controlled by the 7427's built in TCU.
Tuning these old OBD-1 PCM's is nothing like say an LS1 ECM, you can't just buy a nice little program or a plug-in module, before you do anything you have to crack the code yourself. I fact several other people on fullsizechevy run the "$OD" code I wrote!
I also have a matching 95 K2500 with almost the same vortec 350 as my S10 but its got a 4L80-E also tuned by me running the same PCM and $OD code, I use it to tow my sisters 12k#,32' heart 3-horse slant (and to do a little off-roading but its only got A/T's)
