Im with you there.....i loved the old style C-wires. Id just about give someone a night with the Mrs for a pair of them.

I've got a couple pairs of old Ray Bans (can't remember the names), Oakley Square Wire 2 Spring Hinge with the orange lenses, Oakley Half Wire 2.0 with the amber polarized lenses, and last year in Maui I bought my Maui Jims Kanaha polarized which have been my favorites since getting them. I also love MJ's warranty compared to Oakleys'.

anything brandname & i feel as though i'm paying an extra 150aud for the sticker-that sux.
i tried "fuglies" (designed by & supplied to aussie sas !!!) -unfortunately the last pair had a bit of of a problem with the lens
delaminating so they were consigned to the garbage along with the 80bux they cost.
now days i go to safety world & pay 20 for safety lens wraparounds by uglyfish.
if they get wrecked who cares-the thing is they don't tend to wreck as easily as the brand names ie. jokely, bollecks & ray brand.

polarised? i don't see the point-maybe you can only see it with polarising lenses.

disclaimer -i do not care for them -they go in the backpack when not in use -i do not take them off clean them & place them in the bag /case that usually comes with them.

my faves were my Bolle Coachwhips-dollar for dollar i can get 9 pairs of uglyfish for the same ridiculous amount of money.

boys-pocket the change & buy some knives.

I used to feel that way about expensive shades, i.e. that they were a waste of $$. Since the age of 8 or 9 I've had to wear prescription glasses and until I started wearing contacts around age 18 I wore photo grey lenses (lenses that get darker the brighter it is outside) and my eyes got really sensitive to bright sunlight. As a result I need to wear shades outdoors or I squint and get bad headaches.
My point of view was to wear good quality shades to protect my sight. You've only got two eyes so why cheap out on them. I thought the Oakleys were "da bomb" until I tried the Maui Jims. I'd read so many rave reviews about them on various forums, as well as customer reviews online and have to agree that the lenses are much clearer than my Oakleys. Granted Oakleys are probably more durable but I've had several friends break the arms off them and Oakley won't repair them. MJs on the other hand have a better warranty. I think for $60 or so they'll repair or replace them for you for life (or something like that, I've never had to use the warranty). The MJs are also much lighter and more comfortable than my Oakleys.
Finally, after wearing expensive glasses for so long I've learned how to take good care of them so having expensive shades doesn't concern me since I always store them safely in my pack when not in use.

Exactly. Why cheap out on your eyes - I was reading an article on cheap shades and UV light the other day, and it said that cheap shades don't handle UV properly, and because your pupils are opening more can actually be worse for you than without. Also, cheap sunglasses look and feel cheap. Imagine wearing some fine threads to go out, a small Sebbie or Caly 3 clipped to your pocket...and you top off your look with $10 sunglasses from the corner store...ugghh. The same article pointed out the irony of people paying to go on expensive vacations, while they're wearing cheap sunglasses. Instead of getting another knife, that will need to take pocket-time turns with all your other knives, get a nice pair of shades which you will be able to use every day. And the rule is if they're not on your head, they're in the case.

Oakley, M Frame, Radar, and Felons. Its nice to be able to get a new set of lenses for my M Frames for less than a good meal.

Also, for those that somehow associate "d bags" with Oakley note that when Lance Armstrong was diagnosed with cancer all of his sponsors but 3 left him, Oakley was one of the 3. This is before he was the top name in cycling too. Oakley also offers our military a pretty heavy discount.

Im a big Oakley fan as well, heres what I got...

Oakley Oil Rig

Oakley Eyepatch

The eyepatch got a little scratch on the lens last year so now I use them as my work glasses, and im outside all day so I tend to get a big dirty sunglassses tanline from those things.

Bolle Spiral - for years now until they screw up the design. They fit my head comfortably and stay on.

I really prefer Oakley Half Jackets, but I am currently wearing a pair of Kenneth Cole Reaction sunglasses I picked up super cheap.

Gateway Hawks

They fit the protocols for work and they are safety rated. Oh, and the last time I ordered about $3 shipped. I'm sure the price has changed by now but they fit my needs and my budget. When they get scratched they get discarded or but in the yardwork bin.

another good site for cheap sunglasses is GIANTVINTAGE none of there glasses go past 20 bucks and if they do its by one or two dollars

me and my brother got these because we both are fans of "THEY LIVE" they were $16

Im wearing some ridiculous fashion aviators, they dont have sprung ear doodads, they arent polarised, they did ask for a RRP of around 75% of what Ray Ban asks, the silicone nose reliefs arent durable at all and will tear within a few weeks of every day use, but they're all they had in the store and will do for now :O

Fashion house brand name is Ben Sherman, their oxford shirts are tip top but from there on in I wouldnt recommend their label by label alone.
