What do you guys think of this Special 110

I had to ponder this one for a bit (I'm a little slow and stubborn at times).

However, to get NS bolsters (plus in my mind) and bone for $60 it seems like a no brainer. Now, I'm just waiting for my catalog so I can find enough other stuff I want from them to get the free shipping :-)

It's almost evil of them since I have knives coming out of my ears and have to sell many soon. However, this is very sweet and the price is great!

Does anyone have one in hand yet?

They are in stock now, soooo I just ordered two, and two of the Buck Vantage liner locks.....I guess they will be here next wednesday.....Anyone get the back ordered ones yet?

I received 2 of mine today. They look better than the picture. The handles are a deep dark red ( almost black ) and beautiful. They also sent me 2 free mini Bucks. I have 2 more on the way.

Mater,

How do you feel about the fit and finish on that scale?
It is a nice color and I really like the Buck Hammer and knife shield. That is very nice in my opinion. I still haven't ordered mine yet. Probably should get that in for two ASAP.

I hope mine are here in the next two days! I ordered two also, and two other Bucks, so I will have 4 little free ones. I may order two more once I see them! Mater, thanks for the updatte my friend!

The scales are very nice Gordon if you like smooth bone and they fit perfect. I also like the shield and I think it really adds to the knife. It looks a lot better than I thought it would according to their picture. I took it outside and saw some small dimples in the bone in spots but you can't feel them.

Well, I like it also and have one on order, BUT I would like it a lot better if the "shield" was turned around; it kind of seems upside down to me. Just my two cents.

Your right Dr. D!! I wonder why it's like that?

That started me thinking, so I went and looked at a bunch of other knives. It appears to me that the orientation of the logo is pretty standard. All I looked at had the logo or script readable with the knife on it's spine, blade to the right. Here's one of my Case knives (, I do have a bunch of them too) that's typical.

I have noticed the same thing, and that is, or course, the same orientation that Buck uses on its slippies. In fact, I even have a 110 with a inlaid shield with the word Buck on it (334 tells me it is one of only two) similar to early Buck made 300 slippies and the orientation of that is the same as well. But go to the bay and view some of Yellowhorse's work, for example, where the orientation is reversed and see which you prefer. Personally, I like the other better and this still just seems unside down to me. But personal preference is the reason that they make both Fords and Chevys, at least for a few more months. :)

I don't disagree at all. I have a few with emblems and other things inlayed in the handle and they are the opposite way. Like the Matco Tools Editions that have a racecar in the handle. They just look more "right" to me.

mater, you were right, well almost, I got my TWO yesterday and ordered THREE more instead of just TWO! I will have FIVE soon ! Great knives! Perfect fit and finish. I love the nickel silver....This is a must have 110!

I finally got mine today and I'm really upset!

I'm upset that I didn't order two. I would have gotten the second one for $49.25 instead of $59.99 (because of the free shipping) and I'd have gotten a second free mini-Buck. I just wasn't thinking when I ordered it!

YOU ONLY ORDERED ONE !?!?!?!?!?! I thought you where more like me! I expected you have to have ordered at least a few!!!!...lol

I received my SMKW Buck 110 today also. I'll post some pics when I get some taken of it.

First impressions are good, its a beautiful knife. Came very sharp and the fit & finish are good. I really like (prefer) the nickle bolsters that this knife comes with. The bone on mine is also a very dark reddish tone.

I am happy to have this new one in my collection.
