  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

What do you hope to accomplish in 09?

Ok, lets break down what I accomplished.

Hmm 09 ha.....

Well I plan on hanging with Jake, Almost, but he punked out. We did become pretty good phone buddies though.

taking another class at the WLC, Well, I didn't take another class, but I got up there twice for their WAR & PEACE campout, which is like a free class:thumbup:

Getting the family out alot more for camping trips, Nope, only 1 this year with the family.:o

hopefully spend less on knives, Nope:o

practice my orienteering, umm, nope:o

get to more gatherings, Yup, did that:)

maybe if I try real hard I will impress my GP with a good post. That was probably my biggest accomplishment:thumbup::D

I really will be and all ready am studying up on different plants and trees. I would like to be able to identify and be able to use 100 different type of plants/trees by the end of 09. Thanks to my GP I have the tools to hopefuly get there! I am pretty damn close:)

So all in all, I feel I did ok.

Thanks for bringing this back up! Great idea:thumbup:

I did get out for plenty more shooting, even got Koyote Girl out and she's pretty good.

I met up with Christian a few times but haven't made it back down to see Mike :( - Rueben kept being out of CONUS!

I jumped on the fitness challenge in july and I think I've done a decent job there.

Now, on to 2010!

I am finally going to get off my ass and join our local SAR team. Finances have kept me from joining, but I am finally going to put the money down to get on with.

I will be graduating in May, so I will be moving on to who knows where for my internship.

I am going to get my WFR and EMT-B or ECA (haven't decided yet)

I am going to get more dirt time and less time wasted on here not getting dirt time. I have alot of free time now with weekends off and should be spending them in the woods, not on the web.

I am going to get serious about the weight loss thing. Agitated my back about half-way through jake's contest, so I had to drop out.

I am going to get real with my gear. Stop buying more and more crap and whittle it down to a few solid pieces that I can depend on. I have tested enough gear for one lifetime.

I have one more...but I'll save that 'til I see how it works out...

I want to be able to jump again!! Don't want to tell my daughter that Daddy can't.

I want to be able to start a fire with a fire drill, and to find a good fatwood score!

Not only can I jump, but I can kind of run too! Found the fatwood (actually thought it was junk until Monday), but no firedrill. Not too bad all things considered.

When did that happen?

Get out and meet others to learn from and share time outdoors with. No 1 priority on my list. My mate moved to the US and it's left a huge gap in my outdoor life.

Still hoping to learn the bow-drill.

Got a weekend away coming up with a few guys from another forum so fingers crossed for getting the new year off to a great start.
