What do you use more, pocketknife or flashlight?

I use my flashlight WAY more than my knife at work and home. I never knew how convenient one would be untill i had one. Now my friends and family count on me having both lol. I work in a tool shop so having a light is a necessity. Ive found that i feel more naked without my light than my knife and i never thought that would be.

Knife / light use is probably 50/50. As I said I only carry a knife which is used to opens letters, cut / pry on germ covered things during the day and then used to open frozen veggy bags and on other food items in the evening.

When the sun goes down a Mag-lite with a retrofitted LED bulb is used to light and break up coon fights, cat squabbles or when 'yotes get too close to the cabin. The last is usually handled by a Surefire with red lens mounted on an AR rail.

I'm asking the wife for a single CR123 light for my birthday. Hope I get it! the 2 AA light I got for Christmas is too large for a pocket.

Lots of good options for those. I found the single CR123 lights kind of odd shaped for the pocket (fat and short). Funnily enough, I found a 2xAAA light too long and skinny.

I really prefer a 2xCR123 light. Good grip and lots of runtime and lumens. I like my pd32 but I hate the forward button. I have been looking for something with a better interface.

I'm going for the copper Maratac light. I hope she gets it for me! I just wish it was a click vs a twist.

Knife. I keep lights in my bags, but the knife gets used much more.

I do find, as I get older, my eyes like more light.... so flashlights get used more than they used too.

In my case I'd say it's about equal between flashlite and pocket knife (a few times a day for each on average). The light is a small single-AA Streamlight w/LED bulb.

I live in a rural area, so when I go out to feed the animals or check on things it's VERY dark, so a compact flashlight is always on my belt.

Pretty much never without these.

I have the AAA Maratac in both copper and silver and absolutely love mine!!! The copper is sweet but I guess I gravitate to the Silver. The twist becomes second nature after a few attempts and can easily be accomplished one handed.

Excellent choice...

Usually my flashlight gets more use, sometimes the knife and flashlight get used together during my inspections. I have a number of EDC lights that get rotated daily, and a number of larger lights that get carried depending on the location I am going to. I also rotate my knives daily, but when I know there may be a need to check lumber integrity I make sure a good sturdy tanto is in my pocket.
