What does your forum handle mean?

I thought I posted in this the first time it came up, but I just read the whole thread and mine isn't there.

I am a polymer chemist for a company that makes coatings for the inside and outside of food and beverage cans. In fact, we make the "Frost Blue Liner" for Amy's favorite beverage. So I do resin synthesis in the lab, and my first name is Guy.......

OH TOO BAD.... I was thinking you were doing custom carbon fiber bike frames. :grumpy: :grumpy:

Hmmm. let's see......I know how to make epoxies, and if you send me your Busse knives I can burn the handles down for the carbon......there must be a vacuum-bagging oven around here somewhere......

When I was about 13 I needed a name for a video game I was playing. I had just finished reading Roger Zelazny's Amber series, and liked the name of the main character, Corwin. I didn't want to just steal the name, so I changed it to Corwise. That was almost 20 years ago and since then I've used Corwise for every video game or internet forum where I need a name. :)

Zelazny was unparalleled. The names of the computers in my home network are all taken from that series: Merlin, Corwin, Oberon, Brand, Random, Fiona, and Dworkin.

I use to drag race Harley's (for fun) and my boss at the time started calling me hotrod. My last name is Kelley, so there it is.

There's gotta be some newer folks here who haven't seen or posted on THIS thread yet. :D Well, ya new guys??? What does your Forum ID 'handle' mean?

Maghwi means traitor in Klingon.
I go the nick Traitor when I left one job to go work for a competitor back in '97. Everyone was calling me it. Especially the guys from work at our LAN parties. I started using it as my FPS handle. It sorta stuck. I also use it as my TW2002 handle. In most non-gaming forums I go by Maghwi because it doesn't generate as many questions as "Traitor" would. :D

I've been using it for 13 years now. The name comes from the Avatar trilogy of fantasy novels and I've never bothered changing it :o.

I knew it!! Just didn't muster up the courage to ask... :o

Almost picked up a C6...but decided I'm just to gray for that!

As much as I like the vettes, there is just no place for all that speed and I don't feel like beng tempted to use it on the street like I did when I had muscle cars in high school and college. A jeep is more usefull and fun can be had without loosing your license.

Pretty much my point. Plus my reflexes just ain't what they were...

My FIL had a blown-out 1968 Tri-Power Vette with 600 bhp and all the appropriate extras.

It's a miracle that car didn't kill him. Fortunately, there was a safe track close to his place where he could go to play.

That was one scary car...

Left Handed and favorite number - It was my football number. Now my kids are carrying on the tradition and wearing 55 in there sports.

Just posted this a couple days ago in the scrapyard forums so ill copy it over to here

Back when I was younger (guess im still pretty young compared to some of you ;) ) I was watching a kevin smith movie and heard the word snooch. I was curious as to what it meant (at the time being ignorant) and looked it up in the dictionary, I never found the word. What I did find however was snook - A gesture of derision or defiance. I fell in love with it and have been using it ever since, which has been close to 10 years now, I even have a tattoo with snook above ¿? which is a symbol that I've used for myself and my band.

big fan of the band...lived like they sang it for a long time...reminds me of my mispent youth,I suppose...66,year I was born...Go ahead and crank "Ace Of Spades" bet ya dont feel like mashing the gas, hammering the throttle, sticking yer thumb in some clowns eye....its that kinda feeling...
