What flippers have the same or better smooth easy action that a MSRB Shirogorov has?

Just got a Shiro Neon Ultra Lite.... and I am mesmerized with the blade action. Wondering what other knives have that.

I've flipped $25 CRKT IKBS flippers whose blades move as smoothly as the Neon or any other Shiro I've handled. With bearings, how many and in what arrangement makes little difference. The tricky bit is managing lock bar pressure to have a good detent break without putting too much pressure on the blade when it's rotating. I've owned SRBS and MRBS Shirogorovs and neither had less resistance than each other or any number or other well done bearing knives. For that matter the blade on my Buck Marksman had less resistance than either of them thanks to not having a lock bar pushing against it while moving (not a good thing, actually, given the tendency for it to bounce back at you if not flipped hard).

Herucus Blomerus (I own one) and all the Thorburn knives I have played with before. They will give you a different feeling - my Herucus has a simply effortless flipping action even with the strong detent and is just glass smooth on closing. Hard to describe until you can feel one in hand but yes definitely stellar action like Shirogorov.

Better? None as far as I'm concerned. My CKF MILK is pretty much equal on it's single row ceramic bearings.

Todd Begg's customs, RJ Martin, and Jim Harrison (Seamus Knives.), off the top of my head.

CRKT gets a lot of flak (to a large extent unjustified, in my opinion) from knife enthusiasts, but one thing that can't be denied is how smoothly most of their IKBS flippers flip.

This is the first time I've seen another person mention this unfortunate aspect of the Marksman, but it's totally true. On my very first deployment of the knife out of the box the blade bounced back at me and almost killed me. Still an awesome knife though!

I know, they make some of my favorite inexpensive flippers. After having the TSA thieve some nice gear from me I no longer fly with valuables in my checked bags, so when I fly it's usually a CRKT knife I toss in my bag. The Carajas that is one of my top choices for this use behaves just like the CKF Milk in Officer's Match's video above; it flips hard, but if turned upright once it's past the detent it just falls under its own weight. It's a fantastic little knife that I paid all of $30 - $40 for.

The lock seems plenty strong, albeit a bit fiddly to unlock, and the flipping action if flipped hard is amazing, but that bounce back disturbs me to the point that I just don't use it. I should sell it, I suppose, I've just never gotten around to it. It's a shame, it's got a nice clip and it feels great in hand, but that free-swinging blade bouncing back the way it does just seems like a little guillotine that wants to eat my fingers.

Any flipper by Gerry McGinnis... including his Midtech line.

I've owned a couple of midtechs of his that easily beat out $2k+ custom flippers in terms of action.

A lot of knives will flip as well as Shirogorov. But not many productions or custons come close to having the same fit and finish. Of course not many productions come close to their price either. If it makes sense financially probably one of the best production knives you can own. Just my two pennies, YMMV😊
Cheers

I do not have a shiro but am pretty satisfied with the smoothness of ZT 0801 and 0562. In fact, both of them drop close as the CKF in the above video.

I had a carson tech that I bought from another member he put ceramic bearing in it, it was unbelievable.some of the maxace knives too have a super flipping action.

Yeah honestly the CRKT Ripple and Eros have excellent flipping action. My ZT 0801 and 0562 have outstanding flipping action. If you hit the flipper hard enough to overcome the detent it almost always flips all the way open unless you put a finger on the blade to prevent it.

Believe it or not my new Cqc7 flipper has some of the smoothest most positive flipping action I have ever experienced. The detent on the Emerson is not as snappy as the ZTs though which changes the feeling of the action quite abit.
