Sorry search is not working for me.

Lots of talk about fixed blades but not much on folders. What are you folks carrying while out and about??? I know many carry a SAK but a recent article in TK(IIRC) mentioned that with so many higher end folders out there why limit yourself.......

I have always carried a folder along with my FB while hunting/camping out and about...etc.

Over the years it has mostly been Spyderco's(Endura, Military, Manix, have also used a SERE 2K and some customs.) I have an Emerson A100 on the way that looks to be very promising. Stout, spear point and very simple design. I do have a SAK Rucksack that never leaves my gear bag....the Rucksack is hard to beat IMHO.

So, how about you folks what folders are you packing???

I find this aswell, I kinda feel under knifed if I dont. Im not sure if I just need to be carrying more, or I really need it, it does come in handy for small tasks, or if im in a sheple area. So I guess it is needed.:D

I carry an Emerson CQC-7 and a Case medium stockman..... sometimes replace the stockman with a SAK if I'll be away from my truck..... truck has my go bag with a Leatherman Wave in it. A few extra tools is a good thing to have.

at this very moment, a Spyderco Chinook clipped to a Mercharness, in my right pocket i have a Spyderco Rescue Assist, on my keychain i have a Spyderco Cricket SS, and in my left pocket i have a SAK Soldier.

In my briefcase i have a both a folder (Lakota slipjoint) and very small fixed blade (Becker BK7).

edit: oops, forgot the SOG Powerpliers in the briefcase)

I find lots of times it is easier to cut some lunch, fishing line...etc. with my folder than drawing(like it is some huge chore:rolleyes:) my FB from my belt.

I've been alternating between a Spyderco Native and a Waved Delica clipped in my right pocket as my main knife, and a Vic Camper in my left with a little Inova flashlight attached to it. On my belt is a pouch with a Vic Swiss Tool and Mini mag light and a few other odds and ends. In one of my cargo pockets I have a small tool/first aid kit with a Spyderco Dragonfly in it. Sometimes I'll drop an Opinel #7 in my right front pocket, especially if I know I'm going to want a knife for slicing some cheese or summer sausage or similar goodies. I'm thinking about upgrading to a Caly III or one of the new flat ground Delicas as my main EDC knife sometime in the near future.

I was fishing today so I have my Catcherman on me right now. Before I went out, I had a S&W Extreme Ops knife in that pocket. Yesterday I carried mt Schrade Clip Hanger.

Every single day fer the past 2 1/2 years has been the buck strider in coyote tan handles. Ive broke the tip off, droped it 9 feet (more than 3 times.) used to move burning logs, and to cut food. This knife is sharp, tough and fits my hand very well. I also just started to carry an endura, that ride in my back left pocket.

Ive become pretty fond of my Kershaw "Ken onion" Blur. Pretty much with me all the time.

I usually have a SAK in my gear, but my woods folder is a Strider SnG. My edc outside the woods is a Strider PT or occasionally for dress-up a small Sebenza. In my book the SnG is a close as you can get fixed blade durability and trustworthiness in a folder.
