OK so I know this has very little Becker content but, I value your words and recommendations way better than the general section. I really want to get a new EDC and want to buy something better that the $50 to $100 pocket knive. I am looking toward SNG but just looking really. So whats your holy grails or want to buys???

Canal street canittler or a gec 16.

But I'm weird and like canoes over stockmans.

As far as over the 100 range, personally I'd grab the benchmade 940 in carbon fiber and s90v whenever it comes out.

Totally depends on the size you're looking for....I have a ZT 0560 that is stout as hell and I really love it, but it's pretty big. I've not put my hands on a CRK or an SNG, but I do like the looks of those flamed ti SNG's. There is also some absolutely sick money to be spent on "lottery market" folders - Hinderers and CRK's being the easier ones to find. I've also looked through a bunch of Jesse Jarosz' folders, but starting at ~$700, it's pure fantasy. I think the ZT's are a pretty good value, all things considered, and since many of them are designed by well known guys like Rick Hinderer and Ken Onion, you get a little of the cachet without spending for a semi-custom. BTW, the 0560 I purchased used; it has KVT bearings at the pivot and is Elmax steel, 3D machined G10 & Ti on the lockside. Helluva a package, IMO. Still, today I'm carrying my Spyderco Manix 2.

Large Sebenza. No fancy engraving/anodizing/inlays, just the standard regular one.

I would get a stonewashed Strider with the gunner grip....mmmmmm...No way I am dropping $500+ on a folding knife though. Unless I win the lottery.

If money was not a problem I'd get a custom slip-joint with modern materials and design. Maybe one of J. Oeser's.
If you've got all the money ever, why go for a factory knife?
I'd ALSO get an 0566, but that's not ridiculously out of reach. And I'd pay for a lobbiest to get the legal carry length extended to 3.5" so I could carry it. :)

If you like medium to large folders, I would check out the ZT 0560. I love mine. It looks and functions great. The KVT ball bearing pivot mechanism is really a nice feature.

Demko AD10 or AD12. Those things are beautiful. way too expensive for me to afford but that would be my grail. Becker folder would be cool in the mean time. Talks of it but last i read is that its not going to happen. Not cost efficient.

I am perfectly happy with my Spyderco Manix2.
If you are just asking what knife I would like to have if I didnt have to pay for it.
Then I would like a Tony Bose Gunstock Jack with ebony handles with a Bullocks shield, a spear point main blade and a cap lifter secondary blade. I am not talking about a Case/Bose, but a real deal Tony Bose.

You could always get the Phat Bob :)

Sebenzas and Umnuums look nice, but they're not really me. They lack a lot of my favorite features. I promised myself I'd never buy a Strider thanks to Mick Strider's less than savory character, although they look pretty cool to me. If you like the styling, maybe a custom from Dalibor on here.

I'm a Darrel Ralph guy, and I'd love one of his framelock gunhammer models, or else a custom designed for me, with the M390/Chad Nichols Stainless Damascus San Mai that they developed together, and an AXIS or Bolt-action style lock, if such a thing existed. Textured carbon fiber handle scales.

Also, Matt Diskin Fire. That's the rest of my grail list.

I'm pretty happy with my current HTM Gunhammer though. And, realistically, I may eventually branch out into folders, and then I can start making whatever I want.

IF it had to be a folder.... Probably would want something like the Koster Bushcraft folder. If you have not seen that thing it is sweet. It kinda corrects a lot of what is wrong with modern type folding knives. Otherwise probably would have a custom slipjoint commissioned... However... If I was able to spend hundreds of dollars on a folder I would still opt for a fixed blade. At the price of custom folders you could probably have a fixed blade made to your specs. I would essentially find a maker that I like and have them build my dream fixed blade. One that would be made to carry with me at all times and complete the tasks that I generally have during my day. I've got something in mind actually...

Grails or if money was not an option I would get a midtech or custom. For your next step though I would look at the $250-$400. So a Strider or CRK or even a nice ZT would be a recommendation. Brous Blades also makes some good stuff. If you want to jump into custom knives then look at some less expensive makers first. David Clark and Jason Clark are in a great price range but offer super high quality for the range they are in. Many other makers are like this two but those were from the top of my head.

If money were not an issue I would pay Ka-bar the millions of dollars it would take just to proto a folder to the liking and blessings of dear old Uncle E.

Oh, you meant "real" folders?

Haha.....folders suck unless they are a SAK, Case, Opinel or a Buck.

Leave all that Credenza, Spiderman, Zoro Told-ya-sos BS to the fools and pretenders.

;):D
