What folder would you pick if you were a castaway on an island

I'd bring my Boye Sailing knife.

cold steel recon tanto or a swiss army knife with all the cool little gadgets.. maybe even a camillus tl29 with the screwdriver blade sharpened

Benchmade 520. 154CM blade is easy to sharpen. Heavy and thick blade. Good handle for serious work. If lock fails you can turn it into a pseudo-fixed blade by placing an object in the axis lock. Very beefy, heavy duty use folder.

Cold Steel Rajah II, strictly because it's a machete that's a folder, and a Leatherman Wave.

On a side note, cold steel really needs to start using better steels. I love their blades and their designs but I can't stand how they use AUS8 steel. They at least need to use something equivalent to 154CM or near that quality for their prices.

Good question. I'd probably go for a Leatherman Wave or maybe a Vic One Handed Trekker NS. Either would have a multitude of tools that would be handy. If I have to pick just a plain folding knife though it would have to be my Benchmade Griptilian.

Custom Buck 110 with 420hc blade, engravings, and sambar stag. If I'm castaway on an island, I want MY "Wilson" to be a Buck 110. If I need a can/bottle opener or screwdriver on a castaway island, then I'll just die from laughter right then and there.

I assume this is an uninhabited island so we are talking wilderness. Multi-tool would not be something I would want as I doubt I would need many screwdrivers and such. IMO, Multi-tools are for urban survival. In the wilderness I always go with a non-serrated large blade. This screams Lone-Wolf T3 backing up my Ontario Marine Raider Bowie!

Precision

As Many have echoed, I think a Leatherman Would be a good choice. I am Partial to the Charge TTi, although a tough as nails folder like a Strider SMF or a Hinderer XM-18 may be the better choice, they would likeley hold up better.

I would agree with the leatherman, but if your talking about a traditional folder in a salt water environment I think an all titanium knife like a Mission knife would be my choice.
