What folders are the Beckerheads carrying?

I carry a para 2 with a Vic alox farmer. I sometimes switch it up with a hest 2.0

This is my new EDC blade.

Duuuuude. Sahweet blade!

Right now, I'm rocking the BM550 Pardue Grip:

I guess I'm just a terminal cheapskate.
I have never come across a task that my RAT-1, Kershaw Tremor, or any one of my <$30 EDC knives can't handle, (mostly offshore Kershaws & CRKTs).
Not interested in style points, or coolness factor, just usability.
I know that an upgrade takes you out of liner-lock range and puts you into "axis", or "tri-ad"!
Liner locks have always worked for me.
Not averse to change or anything, but spending more than $50 or so on anything EDC, (except a gun and holster), is way outside my means right now.

The other day I saw an ad for a pair of boxer-briefs that cost ~$600.
I thought, "my God, who would pay $600 for chonies?!?!"
Then I realized, if chonies are your thing..why not?

I brought it back to EDC knives, as I often do, and decided.
"I'm OK with Fruit of the Loom."

See the thing is, I used to have a ton of <30 folders. Then I traded multiples for one, or sold them all, and bought a few nicer folders that I like quite a bit more.
Course, I still carry an Opinel from time to time, or that Kamp King I got for $2...

And sometimes I carry a $20 Skyline.....and that's fine. I'm not actually interested in style points or any of that.....however, my most expensive knife is an absolute pleasure to use....and it is every bit as useful as the cheapest knife I own. There have been quite a few of both kinds and a lot in between that have been posted here.....and I don't think most people are judging....but for a guy like me, carrying a second hand ZT is as close as I'll probably come to living la vida loca.

And please post some pics. I really enjoy looking at what everyone carries.

This is exactly what I did. I had a collection of about 40 Chinese tactical folders that I sold all but the two I modified for my second hand ZT's. No regrets about it! No more collection getting dusty and nothing but solid users!

The only other decent folders I own (besides a couple SAKs and a Buck110) is a Kershaw Cryo and an ESEE Zancudo. I love that cryo. I had a rat1 also.....that was one tough bade.

I've been bitten by Spyderco lately. Got a Tenacious a few weeks ago and then a PM2 came in the mail today.

I mostly get what I like - so far that hasn't taken me out of the $100 range.

Been really rockin' this for the last week. I can't keep from handling it......its un-nerving to a degree. My 24 is still close by though.

Well.....my edc folders collection is now complete. I've always wanted a couple nicer folders and a couple beaters. I got a few ideas from what some of you guys carry (thanks Jonny, Granite and TBL). Here's what I came up with:

Orange ZT 0350- i had a black, tiger striped one before and sold it...i love orange, plus this model is what Gibbs from NCIS carried in a few episodes. I usually carry this with my orange handled ESEE Candiru.
Spyderco Manix2- i have always wanted a US made Spyderco. This knife is amazing and gets used the most out of these. I love how theball bearing lock keeps your fingers pour of the path of the blade
Kershaw Cryo-I really think this is one of the best EDC folders for the price. This blade rides in my EDC bag as backup or if i don't want to carry a nicer blade like when I'm working in the yard.
ESEE Zancudo-this is my boat knife. It's thin and doesn't take up a lot of room in my swimming shorts. And the pocket clip keeps it firmly in place even when bouncing on a tube.

Not pictured is a CRKT M16- i like this knife, It's a good backup blade....but the pocket clip its kinda crappy and its fallen out a few times.

That is a nice looking family you got there, OFM4. My Manix is out of commission for a while; I foolishly loaned it to a nice young lady (a chef) so she could cut some plastic and protective foam off a couple dozen restaurant chairs and when I tried to cut something with it later I noticed the edge looked as if she had been using it on rocks. I'm going to need a little time to get it back in ship shape. You'd think a chef would know something about how to treat a decent blade. Next time, they get the Stanley utility knife. Learned my lesson, I did.

Been carrying my Spyderco Tenacious to work instead, leaving the nicer blades at home. Ah, well.

Recently aquired ZT 0550.
Nice knife.

The Manix2 is still my favorite, but this ZT is going to be a contender for sure.

*Edit: it contended...but ultimately fell to the mighty Manix2.

:D No problemo. You may want to stop taking my advice or suggestions or it might get expensive. The ZT 0801 has turned into my fav folder.
