What folders are the Beckerheads carrying?

Well...it's a beast, and it has a very smooth pivot for a knife with washers and no bearings. And you'll lose very little if you decide to move it along....but I'm guessing you'll be keeping it.

ZT 0200 is quite a beast indeed and the coating is quite resistance to wear too. I got one of it free from a customer, rewarding me for my good jobs while the other i got it cheap from a friend. They have used it for a while but both still look quite mint to me. The 2nd i got is actually so smooth that i thought it kinda felt like a 0801 instead. I really love the 0100 too but sadly, just got to know that they have discontinued it a short while ago. Would like to get one still.

As you can see, I'm really proud of my BKs and ZTs, i deal with knives on a daily basis so i get to feel them real good before deciding the right one to get. I have other ZTs fixed too.

By lateral flex, I meant if you could feel any sideways play kn the pivot while the blade was opened.

I appreciate the info, did you reshape the edge at all, put a wider bevel on the final edge? What steel do you have? I have seen aogami blue and white paper steels, among others, offered.

I have been interested in picking one of these up and you are the first person I have spoken with that has some hands on experience.

Sorry for the derail folks.

Yeah, there is some lateral play...I tamped down the pivot with a rubber mallet and it fixed it right up. I did not reshape the edge at all. Just sharpened it up on some wet stones. I like the "scandi" grind. It didn't come with much of a steel description other than "Warikomi steel" which is just a lamination process. I grab mine off of Amazon. If you find a reputable dealer, you might be able to get more detailed specs. I know handeyesupply has an authentic Higo with white paper steel.

This beast just came in today. Not sure if I actually like it. It's beefy though, defiantly a tough folder.

Here are my Benchmade Griptilians, a 551SBK and a 550HG. I can't say which I like more but the 550hg is in my pocket most days. The 551SBK I bought in 2007 or 2008, it's got some miles on it but after cleaning it out and oiling it up it's just as tight and slick as ever. The blade has some fairly significant chips taken out from being stupid with it. I did things to this knife that nobody should do to knives and I wouldn't dare do to a knife now, not even to a Becker. But it remained tight and very solid with no blade play. When I pulled this guy out after several years of not using it, it was dull and old dust, lint and oil had made it super gummy and gritty to open. I carried this thing through jobs, college, hiking, all sorts of places. So I pulled it out and cleaned and oiled it up when I ordered my 550hg a month ago or so. And I probably am going to send it off to Benchmade for a new blade sometime soon, without serrations and maybe a modified sheepsfoot blade which I really like. The thumb hole is great, but on the other hand I've got one so maybe I'll get a plain drop point on there. We'll see.

Fantastic knives. Nothing builds confidence in a gadget or tool like putting it through all that and still have it functioning like new all of these years later. I have some deep carry pocket clips coming for these things.

I've been playing around in their custom tool (expensive) but it'd be nice to have one with a blue handle and S30V blade.

Oh, something I forgot, the Axis lock on my old Griptilian feels exactly the same as on my new one. The lock has held up like a champ and doesn't feel any different at all. This knife has been opened and closed probably thousands of times. I can't believe it still feels this good.

Bingeing a bit lately, some cheap, some.....not as . Really starting to get the hang of the "Emerson Wave" and digging it....ZT 0630 should be here in a day or two. Brous just arrived today, and the Kershaw at the bottom is my new work carry. Opens fast, sharp as hell and cheap enough so that if it gets confiscated I won't be too bummed. CRKT I came into by trade last year and have only recently been carrying; the big front double guard functions in much the same way as the wave. Nice, easy deployment.

My taste in folders varies greatly, especially the blade steel. There is always 2 of these in my pockets at all times. Out of all below only one or two blade steels is doubled.

Just picket up this Cutco 1856 super cheap. Scrubbed some Chevy dealers name off with 80 grit then gave the rest a goin' over for a nice texture. It was pretty much brand new, no signs of use. Gave it a good strop and its a little razor. Barely even feel it in the pocket and cleans my nails real good, mmmhm...good stuff...

Its great that you managed to pick up this beast .. i have it as companion folder for my 7 and 9 .. fit nicely in that small pouch on the sheath. sadly ZT just discontinued the 0200 and 0200ST recently.

Yeah, I got mine but it turns out I don't really like it. I meant to send it back but it kind of got away from me so I guess I'll just trade it off.

I have been carrying this ZT0350TS for the past year:

I think that I am going to switch to a pocket carry multitool instead. I have several Leatherman and Gerber models, but I rarely keep one on my belt. They are usually in the car or my edc bag. The Skeletool may be a good compromise. I started carrying this one today:

Skeletool ftw! Lost mine a couple years ago and got a Leatherman Charge TTi, thinking I'd need all the tools. Good tool, but not EDC weight for me. I miss my Skeletool something fierce.

This one as of late

Sweet knife, but what's the deal with that custom coin?

My all-the-time folders:

Right now I'm seriously considering swapping out the Rat for ether a Spyderco Tenacious or an Esee Zancudo, though.

Woah, I had no idea that "Hobo Nickels" were a thing...! Very cool.

By the way, I just got a "new-ish" folder off the Knife Exchange so I'll need to post a new pick when it shows up...

Been on a Spyderco kick for awhile now. Spydercos have been exclusive in my EDC since July '14. I have picked up several other brands but really, I think I might be "checking the block" with their purchase even though I do carry them for at least one or two days right when I first get them.

Spyderco Double Bevel (wife got it for me for our 20th wedding anniversay)

Ontario RAT-1

ESSE Zancudo (I love this thing!!)

Spyderco Paramilitary 2

Looking to get a ZT at some point and/or a DPx Gear

Obviously, you love the one your wife gave you, but which is your favorite Spydie? I keep looking at the PM2 and the Millies, but then I get something else instead. I have a Manix that I carry quite a bit; love the ball lock. I do love my ZT 0560, but this new one has me hooked:

Emerson Wave openers rock! (IMHO).
