What folding blades to Busse fixed blade fans like to own?

I think I'm going to get a ZT 0562, but can't decide between the elmax version or CTS-204P for $40 more. Anyone have any thoughts on that?
Based on my experience, the Elmax should take more of a beating with less tendency to chip, while the CTS-204p should hold an edge longer but at the sacrifice of a little toughness. The CTS-204p is a more aggressive cutter based on the little bit that I've used it...good stuff, you can't go wrong with either, although I've only tried cts-204p by Spyderco, so ZT's could be different in its behavior

I'd say it depends on what you're looking to do with the 0562. With the beefy grind I imagine either option will be plenty tough for just about anything you can throw at it

ELMAX is definitely good stuff. Now that it appears ZT has figured out the heat treat (have a 560 with ELMAX, that I think is an early one, and it is pretty much crap). After that 560, I almost didn't buy anything else with it. But ZT came out with the 566 and I liked the size so much, I accepted that it was ELMAX and just figured I'd deal with it. But completely different performance, and has been great in my 0620 and 0562 both. So I trust it in ZT's blades now. I guess I'll see if ZT has CTS-204P figured out.

Nabbed a buck vantage. Those are pretty neat little folders for everyday tasks.

I nabbed one of those a few years ago (probably not the same thing now, I guess). It was S30V, and seems to be a good knife. Mine isn't exactly a tough folder, with the thin liner lock. But the steel seems to be done well.

Just ordered the 620CF, in the CTS-204P. It is on sale at that center for knives. Kinda disappointed that the CF's are no longer M390. Supposedly the CTS is as good, but I know M390, and I know it's good. But, I already have the std. 0620, and wanted a backup. It is that good. As is the 562. I have the 0562, and it is my absolute favorite knife. Just about perfect in every way. I plan to get a backup for it as well, in the 0562CF.

Apparently CTS-204P is better than ELMAX? If it is supposed to be, then if I were you, I'd probably spring for the extra bucks and get the 0562CF. But you really can't go wrong with either the 0562 or 0562CF. And don't forget, it has carbon-fiber scales. Or one carbon-fiber scale at least. The knife design is so good, IMO, that it is worth buying in anything other than probably ATS-34 (I've never liked that steel). I mean, even 440C, AUS-8, 154CM, it would still be a great knife.

The sale on the 620CF was too good to pass up. The 0562CF will have to wait a week or so.

That was exactly my thought process. My 0620CF arrived today. It is NICE! Unfortunately, when I went to set the nut (with krazy glue, I kinda made a mess. Not mechanically, but until it's carried a but and the excess gets worn off, it's kinda dull on the CF next to the nut. No matter. I didn't order it to look pretty. It immediately goes into rotation.

Got the 0620 today. Can't say I like the "thumb disk" for manual opening. I really wish they'd used a plain stud or a big hole (like Spyderco or Benchmade AFCK).

I agree on the thumb disk. Not my favorite. The worst thing is, to me, you can't remove it like you can a stud. Sure, you can unscrew it. But the you have that square depression/divot in the spine. I can deal with a small hole in a blade (a la removed stud), but not a square cutout on the spine. And really, with the wave, you don't need a disk, stud, or hole, IMO. Just push on the crest of the wave to open it. That is the primary way I opened my first 0620, as it was so stiff for the longest time that I couldn't use the disk with my thumb. That was partially because of the way I was gripping it, too. But the wave worked with my thumb opening it better than the disk. You couldn't flick it that way, but a controlled opening was easy. It's finally gotten broken in enough that I can use the disk on the 0620. The one on the 0620CF worked better from the start, but I just don't see the need for the disk. Stuck with it though, because other than that, I really like these.

Nice you scored one of the original 0777s! I have a black and a satin one

A ZT 0900BLU came in the mail today. Obviously, I haven't had a chance to use it and abuse it yet, but it defeinitely gets a preliminary thumbs up. Way up.

I've been carrying this Recon1 clip point for a while now. Really like the steel and blade shape.

Cool. Like the looks of that AK (I think it is). And the first knife, the Recon 1 clip point.

Feels like the Ak blade is a half inch too short for the handle because of the butt piece. The recons both carry well the clip point is very slicy.
