What got you into Becker Knives?

I've posted this I'm sure, but I'll do it again. I was on the USS Bonhomme Richard heading for Kuwait to begin staging for the Iraq invasion in ' 03. A friend of mine from another platoon came to me to let me know that his squad leader was selling a big knife and since he knew I was a knife guy, he'd wanted to give me first crack at it. When the Corporal handed me the blade I knew I'd be buying it. It was a Camillus BK4. He'd cord wrapped the handle and the sheath and added a leg drop to it. I think I paid $80 for it.

The knife stayed at my side all the way up through the fall of Baghdad and back. It served a lot of duties, none of which being hand to hand combat. It was used once or twice to make a point, but never drew blood.

I sold it (like an idiot) to my on our way back to the states. I've tried several times to buy it back with no success. He has loaned it to me to take to the gathering this weekend. I got it in the mail from California last week. Sadly, it will return after the gathering, but it's a Hell of a great thing to have it back for now.
