Start with the 3rd coarsest stone and keep it going till the edge looks polished. Then the next one and do the same thing it will look more polished, then finish off with the white stone. Then strop.

I don't know if I do it correctly but I don't do it the same way as freehanding. Freehanding you move only one way. With the KME I go back and forth... I'll do a video for you in a few minutes. It will make more sense then.

Daiz, another idea would be to stay with kydex and instead of using a strap and snap through the hole, use shock cord and some sort of stud. I have 10ft of OD green shock cord that mrn8 sent me. I have been trying to think of a good use for it and havent used any yet. I'd be glad to mail it to you to help out the cause.
 
Just bought myself a new Ruger 10/22. I sold the one I had a few years ago and was getting the itch for another. Anyways, I'm off to order fun parts for it!!!
 
I spent an awesome day outside today with a friend. Had my BK-16 with me, gifted him my old BK-2, we had lots of fun putting up the frame for a nice lean-to shelter. Thatching is a problem, what else can one use when there are no spruce boughs to be found?

This was the only 10/22 for sale in town. I was actually gonna buy a Marlin model 60, but there were none to be found(only two places in town that sell guns). Think I'm gonna keep the stock barrel for now, but I might send it off to get it "accurized". Theres a few people out there that can make em shoot quite a bit better with a new crown and some work on the chamber. Right now I'm going to order some new trigger parts and probably a different stock.

CRKT Redemption.... 10" blade, 0.25" thick. Looks like a cross between a BK4 and a pointy BK9. Nice G10 scales too.

Was in my local knife shop with a buddy of mine to pick up a new flashlight (Klarus XT11) as the owner was pulling this thing out of a shipping box. The second he opened it we knew it was coming home with one of us.

Apparenty only a few of these have made it out, only one place online has any, and they only got three.

Going to try to do a video review of it comparing it to the BK9. At 1.5lb it looks like a hell of a chopper, though not great for batonning due to the long swedge which is not sharpened but very close to it.

It looks pretty cool but at the tune of $240, Id rather have a 9, a 16 and another 2 and 14

My first to-be-Murph-approved knife since the ill-fated Frankenbecker mod project. (c'mon Murph, give it your blessing!)
double-side ground at 25deg inclusive. haven't decided if it will be a true scandi or get a secondary.
decisions, decisions... obviously a sheath will be a key accessory. That's in progress, including some consulting with one of our own pros.

If I'm not mistaken, Mist walker did a review on this blade. Pretty cool score.
 
Just got back from a short little jaunt in the car. Stopped and had a Krekel burger. Damn that was good.
