Just thinkin out loud hear Daizee. But what about making the hole closest to the blade a little bit bigger to accommodate a snap. Make a leather sheath that covers the sharp edge then snaps through the hole. It would be very compact and not disrupt the profile.

Unfortunately that's the largest hole I can drill on my dinky press or I'd be showing it off already, and small snaps don't have the reach... I *badly* want to do exactly that. Giving in to the double-bevel solves the main kydex problem, however... hm.

What's that cylindrical bump in the kydex at the opening to the sheath right over the handle? Is that to accommodate the optional crimson trace laser sight?

OK, Neeman tools "Stalwart axe ? or Wolf Creek Forge Bearded Hawk with a hammer poll ? They both will come in around the same price I think and both look like beautiful work. Anyone have any experience with either and want to weigh in ?
If it helps, Im wanting it for a camping/woods bumming axe so odds are the Hawk is more portable, but I have never been accused of being rational about why I choose what I choose ..lol

i got the movie lawless in today, plan to watch it later on and think it will actually be a good movie after hearing some of your reviews, also i like the actor tom hardy, well i loved the movie Warrior.

Here are the other two colors I have. The brown and black are embossed alligator skin which I make iPod nano and credit card wallets out of. I used the center snake skin embossed pattern on the kabar

That seems about the right size to fit an altoids tin inside. Have you tried that yet?
Another ideal 710, have you thought about accessory pouches in leather that fits on the sheaths you make? Kinda like the Esee accessory pouches.

Damn this thing is fast:
