What Has Happened to Ferrous?

OK, let me start this by benefit of doubt time- Keith was too good a guy for me to believe he isn't still, but something is going on and going wrong here.

1. He has never returned the Pappy Memorial Blade to rightful owner-Rio Jim.
2. He cashed a check for a Seax for Donut's Rule but never sent the item. This was in January.

Rusty reminded me recently in private that there could be humbling reasons for Keith's absence;

HE could be in the hospital
He could be deceased
He could be insane
HE could be in jail
He could be in such desperate straights that he cannot handle business as usual for whatever reason. I suggest then he should not have cashed the check. But maybe he is in such bad shape- who knows?

But if anyone knows Keith please contact him. I last heard from him in December- I placed him on Uncle Bill's prayer list.

If we do not hear from Keith again, I think it would be a good faith effort to give a couple bucks each and buy Donut's Rule a Seax. That's how I feel about it. This should not be happening.

Is there anyone else who has done business with Keith and been frustrated in the recent past? Come forward now because if there's a problem I'd like it aired out.
Our friend may just be in trouble, but he shouldn't be selling items he can't or won't deliver, either.

Rusty, if you want this post gone say the word and I'll delete it. Ferrous, tell someone, anyone you trust what is going on and I would love to be humbled and offer you assistence.

No problem munk. I've worried too about Ferrous and Sarge, and others. If nothing comes up before tax time, get ahold of me by e-mail and we'll figure something out.

Wow this is weird! I had a note to myself to post a thread asking about Ferrous as well. In all my dealings with him he was honorable and I'm sure there is a legitimate reason for the delay. He was a few weeks late getting my Seax's back to me after etching, but it was simply because he was booked up with other work.

If for some reason he is totally out of commision then I'll be glad to kick is a few bucks to get a replacement for Donuts, who is a great guy I have dealt with offline as well.

Also, Ferrous, if you're in a jam financially and that's the reason for the delay, then let us help you if we can!

Good thread Munk. Hopefully this will stir things up and we can find out what's going on.

Regards,

Norm

Yeah, I just had a horrible thought- what happens if he's in a bad way- his family- can't pay rent, can't get enough food, and he's selling now and figuring he'll make it good later.??? That would be a tough spot. In good conscience though, I can't sit by and say nothing if other's are losing.

I don't really care that much if he can't do the etching on the Pappy blade- and Rio Jim has been way cool about it- but send the blade to Rio, anyway.

Edit- Ok, Donut's Rule has further clarified that the money was for an etching and that Keith was going to send both the Seax and the Pappy blade that monday. Then he changed it to next monday. That was around Jan 21. Nothing since. Sounds just like he's over his head.

Thanks, guys, but that really isn't necessary. All I want is the seax when it's done, and for Ferrous to be okay.

Failing the completion and/or recovery of the seax, I'm fortunate enough to be at a point in my life where, financially, a $126 (seax + etching + shipping) loss isn't going to affect my ability to take care of my family, so keep yer money in yer pockets, or send some to Ram if you must part with it. ;)

You're a good guy, Donut's Rule. I always thought your's was one of the best names selected. The honorable Donut does indeed rule. It stands with the proper Burger as a simple and wonderful food item.

Err yeah...
Munk,

The Reasons donuts rule is the same reason the Inca's were cool.

Anyway I was looking around the net for Keith err Ferrous Wheel and had a great time searching for his name, found him a couple of spots, but thankfully nothing bad was found.

However, completely off topic, and probably weird stuff. Search for your own name. Pretty cool stuff.

well.
ok.
How about then:

Yeah !!

Sweet and Crispy wrapped around nothing!!

Really I mean the neat thing about the incas was the concept of zero. The neat thing about donuts is the center removed to make them fry faster, that makes them sweeter...

Sweets a good thing.

At one time Uncle Bill had only two deadbeats on his list. It turned out he would be in the area where one lived, so he decided to drop by and check the guy out.

Turned out the deadbeat really was dead! :p ;) :D

I expect that things will eventually resolve themselves.

There is something wrong with people who don't like good peanut butter, icecream, donuts and burgers.

Methinks whatever is wrong with our friend Ferrous it has too be something damned serious! Ferrous is too good a guy too intentionally stiff anyone let alone his friend's here.:(

Ferrous was nice to everyone and would not intentionally hurt anyone.

I remember almost the last exchange we had- I said I was only here to give Ferrous a hard time- and he made that his byline for a month!!! Pretty funny.
"I knew it! I knew it!" He said.

I never knew Ferrous but I too hope everything is okay and that he will join us here again.

Been thinking about him myself, just last night and then Munk's post appears.

I sold Keith a Falcatta a few years back. Neat guy. Don't think I still have his address, but I will look.

There HAS to be a story here. I read and believe the post where he cashed a check and did not deliver, but this seems so unlike him!

Ferrous, if you are out there, we sure would like to hear from you again. There is nothing so bad that you can't talk with us, either publicly on the Forum or at least privately in an email.

My door is open to you buddy.

Come back to us Keith.
We've got your mead and roast ox tongue and willowy lass all ready for ya.

There's a bunch o' guys that have gone missing in the few years that I've been here.

Anyone hear from Roger Smith as of late?

I never had any dealings with Keith, but he always struck me as a stand up guy. He really seemed to have honor at the top of his list. I hope that nothing serious has happened to our "Norseman":( Drop us a line if you can, keith. We'd love to help.
