I also got a viking firestarter steel from him. I collect & study history; as a celt/viking bastid most especially axes.
Got 2 HI Seax's- and they would look awesome etched. My shop was destroyed Sept. 16 2004 by hurricane Ivan. So I felt this part:
"associated with death, but also life and rebirth. Val=death and knot (knut)=knot thus death knot, the mark of those who accept death or are bound to it."
I'm looking forward to rebirth. See you in the Hall!
