What have I done? Three knives until Christmas?!

Andi, this sounds like a fun bet, and thanks for sharing the backstory and photos. What's the prize for winning? Another Charlow? :D

Oh, and if you're looking for a home for all your other great knives until Christmas...;)

you bet against your wife
Never Fear Andi. It's not a bet unless you shook hands.;)
Good luck with it anyway.

Hi guys!

This seems to become an entertaining period here on BFC :D
But honestly, I can surely fondle and coon fingering my other beauties. It´s just a bet - I´m not in prison :D (I even got bloodsausage for dinner - yummy yummy yummy)

This morning I just had to decide between three and not a whole bunch of knives, I was in mood for a darn old fellow of mine...

Oh, I can fondle whatever I want, but I fear that this will drive me crazy when I should open the drawer and see my Otters, Hartkopfs, GECs and all the others that are in there unused and uncarried. So I will leave them there - nothing wrong with this.
But I hope I can fight against the desire of getting my paws and there and carry the one or other beauty. The bet was carrying - not fondling. I know this might cause space for cheating, but I´m an honest bandit and won´t do that...

It was all due to my arrogance and pride that brought me into this dilemma - so I have to stand and do it

Andi, is not St Nicholas Day on December 6? Perfect timing for the BF knife to arrive :) and about the three month mark.

Andi!! Carry your Case Soddie!
And, get an Orange Bullbuster for Christmas. And... one for you wife. :D

Andi, imagine that it is 100 years ago...a man in those times with three beautiful knives such as those chosen would be very lucky indeed ;)

Truth is spoken, Duane. Indeed he would have been a lucky fellow in that time, my friend :)

Some weeks later after I have started my challenge, I just wanted to keep you guys and gals updated.

I still change between the three knives every new day. The others are waiting in the drawer. But Christmas will be here in some months :D

I think I can manage it just getting these three knives with me for a couple of months. But it´s hard, believe me.

A nice sunday to all of you fellows :)

stay strong Andi!
i did 3 months with just a texas jack and a wenger SI
it was difficult, but kind of freeing after awhile ;)

I have faith in you man!

Good man Andi! But you'll need all your will-power as one of these must be arriving in Bayern soon to test your resolve:D:D These Forum Knives are beyond belief, well at least mine is!

Regards, Will

Hi guys!

I can see him now about first of December......:D

Good luck, if we don't here from you around that time, well I guess we know what happened.:)

Thanks for the replie, Al :)

Yeah Will - I still await it here during the next weeks :D Then I will see my strength in mind. Oh and these Linzer Bissen are looking tasty. BTW: Linz is just about 120 km away from here.

Andi...mate this has been great reading - my friend -like Jack said you did walk into that one, I too get a hard time by my wife, my stepson & daughter - as well as my girls, I just turn around ( as I am always in my computer chair - on here :o and say..hey..I know its difficult - but when you become of higher intelligence like me - you understand these things- until then - I cannot explain why I have so many knives to you - lol - and man it starts...its great fun :D

Well my friend...you picked 3 very good knives, so we want to see this thread updated continually - which includes the mood swings you will go through when you see your other knives just sitting...begging - looking all shiny and sharp...you'll know you want to - but you just cant...you just cant have them :D

By the way...dont let us guys down here Brother - dont let your little Lady win the battle - you MUST win this one Andi - and dont let her know you are sweating it....there is something unexplainable in a woman that feeds off it when the Husband squirms :)

Andi Those Linz biscuits got eaten up very quickly :D A Christmas time delicacy I believe? And you don't need just 3 of them.....They came from our local supermarket German owned beginning with 'L'...some tasty stuff there at times, at least something different. I'd love to visit Linz or Bayern someday, time to apply myself to the Lotto more seriously....

Here's my 66 to show solidarity with your monkish carrying regime..

All the very best, Will

There is one humongous flaw in the OP's decision making processes, not a SAK in that trio. What exactly were you thinking?

I need my MTs and SAKs daily at work due to the tools. But even that go limited by myself to some SAKs and MTs.

Thanks for the encouraging words, Duncan and Will. Highly appreciated! I know it will be tough, especially when the BF Forum Knife arrives... this will be strange way to the customs office.

I won´t loose this bet - Never! :D

So some more weeks went along. I´m still carrying these three beauties. And, what I´m very proud of - I almost own the BF Knife 2014 now and I haven´t carried it yet. Played with it, yes. But not carried it :D

Well, I was opening my drawers some days before and looking at my other beauties in there. Almost retired, at least for some weeks more. It was hard. Knowing they are in there and just having the choice between the three. I´m looking forward the day, when I can carry the #12 Powderhorn or a Stockman again...

Long story short - I´m still standing strong and will. It´s just one month more (and a few days...)

Good man, Andi!!:thumbup: Your determination and resolve are an inspiration!
Earlier this week I thought to myself, "I wonder how Andi's 3-knife challenge is going?"
So thanks for the timely update. Hang in there!
