Carved this cardinal bird. Needs to be painted and I’m going finish the bottom into a wine bottle topper. When it’s done I’ll be giving it to my mom.
Absolutely, I can't make any guarantees on how long it'll last though.Hey, can I use that for my upcoming joint replacement surgery? ;-)
I saw that on a recent x-ray showing the breaks in mother-in-law's leg following a fall.Whittled a bone, not entirely sure why though. I mostly just wanted to do something with some hollow forms to it.
Did they determine that her main issue was that she has basswood bones?I saw that on a recent x-ray showing the breaks in mother-in-law's leg following a fall.
Basswood would be better than her real bones. At least basswood is not full of osteoarthritis.Did they determine that her main issue was that she has basswood bones?

Tonight while visiting mother-in-law I showed your whittling to everyone. All thought it was an amazing likeness to the bones. I told her it was even in her size, which garnered me a scowl and grumbling from her but she did smile
Haha glad to hear my goofy whittling provided some good entertainment!Heathenhymnal
