What is HOLY GRAiL knife for Buck Collectors?

I'm trying to discipline myself.

Thru time I always go back to certain focuses..... I don't need to obtain everything that catches my eye.

(It's easy to get side tracked.)🌪️

Maybe I'll make that next year's resolution. 🤔

I did that last year. I made it was to restrictive and didn't work out so good. I felt guilty every time I bought a knife.
I just can't help myself 😁
This year I've already ordered four knives from Larry and know that there will be more.
I've resigned myself to the fact that I'm a Buck Knives ho!!

No sir it is not. Now its a private comission and I think some of the best and greatest ,Leroy Reamer WBC and folks like that, have to like you to AND the knife you want made plus of course the money to be worth there time..great Custom Bucks are STILL made but I think the new ones go into very private strong hands and collections.

I am more referring to the factory custom shop. There are some nice customs being made outside the factory. Outside of my price range though. Lol

The 'Custom Shop" now just basically lets you 'build' some models from a list of available options of handle material, blade and engraving. Some choices are limited such as no drop point blade for 112's. But a fabulous Custom Buck IS possible just not directly from Buck at this time.

For me, it was the 639 Fieldmate, which I received as a gift this Christmas.

These things seem to be absurdly rare and hard to come by these days, second only to the Buckmaster 185 LT in my experience. Fortunately, they're not nearly as expensive, so when they can be found, the prices aren't nearly as painful.

One of the cats decided it was their grail knife as well.

I pulled this one out to take pics, and the little furry bugger got to it before I did.

Look on the bright side, now it has a funny, memorable story attached to it. You could even spice it up a bit if you like and claim that those are battle scars from a chance encounter with a predatory feline! ;)

I actually had an opportunity for recently acquiring mine!! I wanted a 117 and I was actually able to get a March 2021 BOTM knife on Ebay! I now have great Buck Knives in my knife collection but that one is my "holy grail" knife. Here's a picture of my Buck collection which I started in August 2021!!

Ah yes... you're not alone there in the rapid collection expansion department. Mine multiplied (and continues to do so) like bunnies, after I joined the BCCI and getting the Buck Pro discount .

Some of my 119/120 pairs that helped grow my collection this past year... I don't have a "grail" knife in mind yet, only because I've yet to discover it, and I'm positive that there is one out there waiting for me to obsess on after discovering it ;) .
