What is HOLY GRAiL knife for Buck Collectors?

Ah yes... you're not alone there in the rapid collection expansion department. Mine multiplied (and continues to do so) like bunnies, after I joined the BCCI and getting the Buck Pro discount .

Some of my 119/120 pairs that helped grow my collection this past year... I don't have a "grail" knife in mind yet, only because I've yet to discover it, and I'm positive that there is one out there waiting for me to obsess on after discovering it ;) .

Very nice!!

i still really want a 305 clipper, but at the same time im worried ill be disappointed by the scissors so im waiting for that once in a lifetime too cheap to pass up deals on one.
i intend to use all my 305's and if the scissors disappoint me the knife just wont work out.

I wound up getting my Buck "grail" knife this past week, that being the Buck 184 'Buckmaster'.

But, if I have to pick another besides it, I would say a bonafide, rare, and in mint condition, early fixed blade 119 type knife made by the hands of the Buck founder himself 👍

I think I only own about 23 or so Buck knives, but as a collector of all sorts of do-dads, I find Buck's Buckmaster 184 to be the cats meow! 🐱

It’s this one for me, too. I’ve wanted one since I was about 12 or 13.

I already have my Grail knife. Plane Jane 1987.
Does, and has done, just about everything I have ever required of a knife.
I may have newer models that I use now,but this one still gets her pouch time.

Your post reminded me of a much younger self and how much I wanted a 110, and how long I waited for it.

Simpler times. I wish I could go back.

Earlier this year, I saw a knife on eBay that I had never heard of before. Apparently it was some limited edition knife designed by country singer Craig Morgan as part of a collaboration with Buck.

The Buck 967 CM Adaptor. It was a tanto sawback blade, full tang with sandalwood grips and a seatbelt cutter on the pommel.

I was planning on buying it, but I was hit with unexpected expenses and lost sight of it.

Of well, I've still got the 639 Fieldmate.

My 124 is the closest thing to a “grail” Buck that I have. I love this knife, and use it every day. I will undoubtedly keep this knife for the rest of my life.

As for the dream Buck, I would absolutely love a Joe Houser 124. Any of them. This thread introduced me to Houser’s creations:

And ever since, I’ve been thinking about those Houser 124s.

My grail would be a complete, early display of Buck knives like the displays I saw in hardware and sporting goods stores growing up. History, nostalgia, and high quality cutlery all rolled into one happy package. 😊

Like this one that's not mine...

My goal is much less ambitious, and that is to collect as many of the fixed blades knives in the above case as possible. They don't need to be vintage. It would be seriously cool to put something like the above display case together but it is beyond my current hopes.
