What is it about Busse Infini steel???

Nice pic and video. So far I don't see anything that can't be done with just about any knife. I wanna see the "magic". :D

Busse knife is a great steel with a great heat treat....with blade geometry that all lend to its "legendary" durability. They even have a very devoted (and vocal) fanbase that'll do his marketing for him.

I have no experience with them, nor am I a "hardcore" user/abuser of my knives so I will never push my knives to the point where Busse knives are said to excel at.

So the exact same knife design in 440C will perform identically to one made of S7?...

I'm no expert but I understand that all steels are NOT created equal so why spread misinformation?

What would we do around here if there was no misinformation to correct?

Show me a brand new infi blade that snapped in 2... please I'll wait.

The famous photo of the basic 10 (I think) that floats around was beaten on for YEARS with a steel hammer and sharpened so much it was inches shorter.
INFI will and has broken. It also chips out. It's only steel after all.

My sides hurt, I'd like to see what knife, even a kukri that could shear through almost an inch thick material that cleanly. That was a piece of 7/8" MDF board btw...

I was unable to replicate the results with any other large chopper in my collection. I'm not saying it's the best cutter ever; only much better than many that I've ever tried...

Even this Brian Breeden chopper at the bottom (11" blade length x .250" O-1 steel) couldn't even come close to doing the same "job"...

So your going to qualfy now that the knife has to be new?
Wait forever. Better yet, do your own research. It's right here on the site and posted elsewhere.

YOU made the claim, burdens not on me buddy. Nice try though, were waiting...

And yea, the post you quoted was of a BRAND NEW schrade snapping in 2.

What does the fact that is was beaten on or inches shorter have to do with the magical properties of this magical steel? Are you claiming that these things somehow interfered with it's magical properties? lol.

I've been here long enough to have seen the threads when they were posted.
You know where the forum is. All of you do.

Imma go stab my knives into cement now...:eek::rolleyes::stupid:

'Cause that shows real performance LOL.

I'd buy any Busse/Kin knife any day over some dodgy, supposed 1095 blade; no matter how cheap it was.

One thing's for certain; the schrade ain't gonna appreciate in value over time but a safe queen busse on the other hand... ;)

So you can't provide pics of BRAND NEW infi breaking in 2? Ok thanks, I didn't think so.

Mqqn posted he had never seen a busse knife do what the Schrade in his link did. His link he was referring to a brand new schrade knife snapping in 2.

You, then quote his post which referred to a brand new knife snapping in 2 and say "INFI will and has broken" .

I asked to see a busse knife do what Mqqn's post referred too.

And just to be clear has ANYONE said infi is indestructible? I can't find a post in this thread that says so, but here you are trolling busse knives saying they fail and chip... well duh any steel can fail or chip, and no one said otherwise. Infi fails LESS and chips LESS than others.
Why does it have to be new? So that you can qualify your answers. My statement included old and new steel.

IDK, still nothing except some Stump guy claiming to have broken a Basic 7.... There was that hockey mask wearing dude a while back too that used to break knives.:foot::confused:

Of course you may have to spend a few more minutes doing research.....

Funny, youre the one trolling here because someone offended your sensibilities....
You are right. Busse isn't indestructible.
Please show me evidence where in chips out or fails less than any other steel. Now I guess i'll wait.....

You have a serious chip on your shoulder regarding busse, it shows. Call me a troll all you want, people reading this thread see you for what you are.

If you really believe all steels chip and fail the same, you know less about blade steels than I thought.

You have had a nasty tone ever since you had your supermod status stripped away. He'll you had a nasty tone even before then.

I have first hand experience using INFI and 15+ other steels, there is an entire forum dedicated to busse where guys do crazy things with their knives.

Take your own advice and use the search function.
