What is next in my humble collection?

Get the Sebenza Insingo. Then you don't have to worry about the fine tip, and the insingo is the best performing blade ever IMO.

I'll tell ya what, I carry a Large Insingo w/ Micarta Inlays (about $500) nearly everyday to work. I work construction...

I've dropped my sebenza off scaffolds, ladders, roofs, dug holes in the ground, cut concrete bags, cut zip ties, cut silt fence, pryed open access panels, cut wires, used it as a door stop, used the handle to break tiles, cut holes in drywall, opened beer bottles (after work of course;))...the list goes on. The last thing I do is cut boxes and paper at work, that's on a good day.

Honestly, my Sebenza is the only knife I'd trust on the job. I have many other expensive knives and they are all great. But the sebenza is for serious work, my other knives are just for "fun" IMO. And CRK's warranty will leave you worry-free if anything happens.

Forget the whole "over-built" thing... A sebenza insingo is where it's at...

Do you have any more pictures of it by chance? I would love to see some close ups of a Sebenza that's been used as a full blown construction knife!

I'm not saying I don't like my other knives...
But I'd give them all up, as long as I could keep my sebenza.
Losing my sebenza would be like losing a close friend.

First day I got it...

Wow you didn't waste any time. I like the knife grab bag you got there! Have you ever had to send your Sebenza back for any reason?

edit: thanks for posting those pictures...very compelling! I can't imagine my PM2 outpacing that thing in those conditions.

Has anybody else put the ZT 0801bw through similar paces to Blues Bender?

I haven't had any need to send my sebenza back. It's just as good as when I first got it, maybe even better since its been "broken in".

Like I said, it's like a close friend, my trusty side kick, my second hand, etc... My sebenza is like your grandpas old traditional folder, it's seen a lot, and it will see a lot more...and then some...

Is that green knife under the olamic a Southard?

Yup.
Spyderco southard, OD Green scale that I made for it on a boring day. I bought some micarta for "one of those day's" and it turned out to be a southard kinda day:)

Ps. There's exactly 15 knives in that drawer, guess them all and I'll send you one;)

iam lucky to have both the zt801 and the bradley. both fantastic knifes, however the spyderco is the one in my pocket, frist of all it fits in my pocket where the zt would be more at home in a belt pouch its a big heavy knife.not that the spyderco is a flyweight but its a bit thiner and still hand filling.the 801 is more fun to open, that big blade flys outa there and its sooo smooth, ill say this if i knew i was going to be useing a knife hard for hours on end i would pick up the zt its hand filling grip would be kinder to the hand than the spyderco but for everyday normal tasks the spyderco does better than ok and its a looker, they both are and the frist scratch is going to kill you on either one of them.i made a pocket sheath for my bradley and removed the clip not only did that protect the finish but not having that clip digging into my hand gos a long way to make the knife more useable plus it dosent tear up my pockets.in the end you will probley have both or if you are like me all on your list and then some, i have had this sickness for over 50 years and have many yards of sharpened steel enjoy

no special magic after playing with the case sodbuster? if it comes, suggest a case medium texas jack with chrome vanadium steel blades. provided you stay out of trouble, it might be the only knife you'll need to carry in the next 50 years.

Hmm I don't see a flipper tab. Did you mod it?

15 knives in there eh? That would be tough to guess them all since I can't see them! Nice collection, I love the variety. I have a similar mash up with about 15. And ya I love my insingo but I have been carrying my hinderer's a lot lately.

Great pictures and comparisons!! I watched a few videos on the 0801 last night and I'm not convinced. I heard blade play could be an issue because of the steel bearings on the titanium frame, and I don't really like the handle shape. It may be a toss up between a Gayle Bradley and a Sebenza Insingo at this point. Question is how long do I want to go before I get my hands on a nice new knife? I could buy a GB within 2 or 3 months...Sebenza probably won't land in my hands until the end of Summer!

And I didn't feel magic with the Case Sodbuster Jr. I really really wanted it and thought maybe it would take over duty as my EDC but it didn't. I still really like it! In fact I'm going to carry it today!

edit: While I've never owned a flipper I'm not sure I want that style knife for my EDC...might be a little menacing around customers.

That's a tough call. I know you can pick up a Bradley fairly inexpensive on the exchange. Maybe grab one of those and start saving for the insingo!

I think I've made up my mind finally thanks to all your posts, the amazing videos people have posted on youtube, and Chris Reeve's knife making skills. It will be a Large Sebenza Insingo in Stone Wash - no inlays. At a rate of $50.00/month put away I should have enough by Summer's End. Also hoping my awesome Wife will throw a little my way here and there if she has a good year selling homes :p Journey to Sebenza begins now!

Congratulations!!!

You'll now be part of "the club", and don't forget to peek in the CRK subforum here and there. I think you made a decision that you will never regret. The GB is very nice, comparable to a Sebenza, but the sebenza is something special. It's such a purists knife.

Make sure you use it hard man, trust me, it can handle it. And be sure to let us know when you get it, I'll be waiting for one of those "why did I wait so long" threads.

One thing to note, is when you get the Sebenza, you might find that it has "late lockup". Don't worry, that's just how they are. Remember that Chris Reeve invented the framelock, so he knows a thing or two about them. The lockface is carbidized to prevent wear, almost like a steel-lockbar-insert, so don't worry.
