What is next in my humble collection?

you like that?

I do indeed...

When I often came to this site for answers via Google searches, and many an answer was found here, great stuff over the years, it was usually to help me decide between knives, question regarding steels and reviews and such, but when I finally joined a few weeks ago, it was the exact opposite, to much my wife's chagrin, i knew I did need more knives, and what better place to find out which ones then here, amongst other knife folk. :)

Back on topic, is it normal for a Sebenza blade to be off center? From what I have seen most people say their blades are visually centered to the point where 3-5 seconds of close scrutinizing would discern no bias to either side. I suppose I do have some OCD in me, but I feel like Chris Reeve would not let this knife out of his factory in this condition had he personally caught the flaw. I'm thinking about just ordering a new one from bladeHQ right now and then returning this one for a refund--anybody know if this is an acceptable way to do an exchange?

I had a small Sebenza 21 back in November and sold it to get into customs. The knife was perfect and the blade was dead center. Regardless of me taking the knife apart the blade would sit perfectly in the center once I put it back together. Have you also considered Hinderers? The prices have dropped a lot and you can find them close to Ranch prices from dealers. They are perfect as hard use knives.

I have owned a Hinderer and Sebenzas and plan on getting them again after my custom orders are finished this Summer. This time a large 21. The Hinderer will be my hard use knife while Sebenza more for casual carry. I'd say definitely consider a Hinderer, I believe they have begun to make stronger detents in the newer runs and the customer service is second to none.

I'd say return the Sebenza. If you are like the products you purchase to be perfect you won't enjoy the Sebenza as much. You could also try contacting Chris Reeve? If you are set on a Sebenza definitely try and return it and get another one.

Definitely return it - Ive owned 5 and all have been dead centre.

Good luck with the exchange, Im sure you will get looked after.

Thanks for the advice. I am sending the Sebenza back to bladeHQ tomorrow morning. Since it was the only double lug Insingo they had left, I am having them send me a single lug Insingo in its place. With the extra $35.00 they're sending me a Coyote Brown Rat 1 with satin blade. All's well that ends well I suppose! Pics to come!!!
