What is on your list for 2013? (traditional knives only)

I thought I'd bring up this old thread. See if you filled your list. :victorious:

Just a few on my list......

GEC Half Whittler
GEC Farmer
Queen Canoe
Queen Single Blade Copperhead

Actually I was thinking of this earlier today.

Out of my list below, I have the 66 jack (actually two of them), the toothpick (a GEC in blood red bone) and that 250A Silver Knight in checkered kraton.

What I didn't count on was the introduction and production of the TC Barlows and the boys knife and jack and the model 92 eureka jack. Of those I've got 3 barlows, 2 boy's knives, 1 boys jack, 1 eureka jack (three if you count the 2 JBF Champlin models). Still itching for the conductor and clip blade white owl. It doesn't look like GEC is going to do a single blade 74, so I've got a 55 houndstooth instead.

A toothpick. Might be a Case or a Queen/Schatt, GEC or some other brand.
A GEC conductor
A GEC white owl with clip blade
A slimline trapper
A Queen #51 jack
A GEC #66 jack
A single blade GEC 74 if they make one.
Probably a peanut
Maybe a 250A Silver Knight in the checkered Kraton if I can find one.

Oh I could go on forever...

GEC Boy's Knife
Queen Utility Knife
Case Pen knife w/ bail and scissors
Yeller Buck 302
Case Peanut
Buck 110
Buck 119
Buck 301
Buck 505
Camillus US Army knife
Opinels!!!!

And the GEC Barlow in soup bone strikes a fancy.

Case Sodbuster and Trapper are on their way. More Opinels with experiments in staining the wood is planned. I am searching for a reasonably priced Pattada and might have found one. A Navaja would be nice.

I'm pretty pleased with how things are going :)

Case Bose 2012 wharncliff trapper;
Oeser Zulu;
Gossman Hudson Bay and Kephart;
GEC JBF Champlin eureka jack;
GEC Missouri Trapper;

Fingers crossed that GEC puts out a daddy/granddaddy barlow akin to the 15 barlow line.

The only knives on my list right now are the Case Bose 2013 wharncliffe trapper and the 2013 Forum knife.

You know you're becoming borderline when you can't actually remember all the knives you've got in the past few months....:eek:

Well since 1st Jan I think I've got the following: A knife I can't mention here...:D 2 Rough Rider locking Sodbusters (very good too) Tiny RR locking Barlow in some very odd but good Armadillo jigbone, GEC White Owl in stainless (yes!), Tidioute Eureka Jack (hurrah!) Chambriard Le Compact in Ebony (flawless) A basic Marttiini puukko in carbon (very decent) and today a Queen Cutlery No.844 Small lockback in Zebrawood ( v.attractive)

Probably I've forgotten some...But, not a dud knife here so I'm very pleased with M.I.P. (mania in progress) :D:thumbup:

Thanks, Will

If I'd have just stuck with my list, I'd already have had them all considering the number of knives I've bought this year, but no, I'm too easily distracted it seems. I am happy with the knives I've bought, but they weren't on the list. And this is them:

I don't know why I bothered to make a list...???

An original Scagel, found at a yard sale, being sold by someone who thinks it's just "Granpa's old junk knife." :D

Short of that, though, I honestly don't see myself buying many more folding knives for a while.

I'll likely focus on some traditional fixed blades, or modern interpretations of classics. I'm always a sucker for Nessmuk styles, and traditional trailing points.

as per my earlier post i did get a mercator k55k but havent gotten a higonokami yet. got a few other items at a gun/knife show and maybe one or two other things besides. life is good.

I am aspiring to make ten barrel head jack knives. Or Barlows. I am not too sure what they will be called.

:D

Thinking about a Brass/Rosewood Buck 309, but my current black, sawcut, Valox 309 is doing a more than serviceable job, maybe I'll look at a 301 or 303, I dunno.

I bought one off my list so far...an a whole bunch of others that weren't! :D

Right now I have the Case/Bose and the forum knife on my list, plus I'd like to pick up a regular Case Muskrat. I still want to order a Morris friction folder one of these days...

At least I'm not alone. That Case/Bose will be pretty special.

I didn't actually have a list, but I ended up buying a lot more knives than I had any intention of doing at the first of the year!

So far, in 2013, I have acquired all of the TC Barlows that are pictured in my avatar (4 Gabon Ebonies, and 2 Macassar Ebonies), and I have a Northfield Mini Lockback #72 with burnt orange jigged bone handles that should be arriving this afternoon in the mail.

If the following photo indicates what I think it is, then GEC will be making one of my dream knives sometime soon. A #68 Equal End Jack (I was about to order my first #68 white owl, but now I will be waiting for the Jack version if it actually is happening)...

Whatever was on your list, I enjoyed looking through your pictures here, and heartily endorse all the knives you've actually brought in. Well-chosen; fine examples all. :)
