What is the best deal you have gotten on a knife lately?

It's been a couple years, but I did get a Randall model 10 for a dollar at Goodwill. This is an old non-stainless model.

For me it has to be the $64.99 REKAT Cub with green handles and the $89.99 REKAT Pocket Hobbit from Mike Turber's Knife sale.

A Pat on the Back is only a few inches from a Kick in the Butt.

It is between my $10 each Mirages and my $30 Goddard from SMKW, or my $20 shipped used Outdoor Edge Impulse. I can't decide.

Hmmm...I'd have to say either the CRKT Mirage Gray Ghost that I got from an eBay seller for $20, or maybe the MT Mini-Socom I got at a recent gunshow for $60 (after I traded some stuff for it).
OR, it could be the free Swiss-Tech Gold tool I got when I complained to Swiss-Tech about my current tool (no jokes please).

I recently purchased a Steve Corkum Seibai neck knife from a fellow forumite for $110. We didn't know it at the time, but it was limited to only 25 pieces. I sent it to Steve and he called me and told me that it was number 2 of 25.
Sometimes you get lucky!

Hi,
I bought a Pat Crawford Fixed blade called a "Body guard" at a pawnshop for $9.95

Ask my neighbor and my father. I just gave each of them several folders that I didn't have room for any more

Hanging around here too much!

How about a Halo III with a bit of black coating rubbed off for 140.00?

The Swedish company Fällkniven has a 50% sale on Microtech among others. I bought the Vector, Socom and Mini-Socom. I paid close to $200 for the Vector, which should come close to American prices.

The sale is still on...

Best deal EVER: $50 for Livesay UJI Fighter

Other than that...my brother's buddy had found an old Spydie Police Model in a puddle by our house. He picked it up, and aware of my knife enthusiasm...brought it to me...it was HURTING!!! Looked nasty, all gritty and dull, and some teeth were cracked and bent. BUT: I knew right away what the knife was, and in all honesty, I also knew that if they would have kept it, they would have lost it in no time.

I traded a $15 United Cutlery diving knife with a skeletonized handle, plus a gimmicky Frost piece for a 10" Spyderco Police Model. After a good after noon of soaking in GUNK Rust Remover and Degreaser, the knife was rust free. After another day or two of hard work, the teeth were repaired, and the lock was silky smooth again. It wasn't until 5 yrs later that I HAD to send it back to Spydie for a full workup, for the tip had cracked trimming a snowmobile fuel line in the COLD.

$30 in knives for a $150 knife...and this was in 1990!!! I would say that was an AWESOME deal!

Greg,
You are not a nice man

You had me until the throwing it part.
I've told this one before. A friend of mine bought a Randall 2-8" with an ivory handle, with the tip broken off, at a yard sale for $35 a few years ago. The Randall shop made it into a 2-6". He recently sold it for $700. Not a bad return on his investment

Correction: I just got a brand-new MOD CQD Mk II of of eBay for $140. THAT'S my best deal (ok maybe not but I'm excited).

I got a Bob Lum tanto in mint condition with stag handles at a pawn shop for $80.00. They had no idea who he was, and had it in the display with the logo down.

I picked up a CPM 440V San Mai Damascus Dual-Action Microtech LCC with Mother of Pearl Scales and Damascus Bolsters for the bargain price of a Grand.

Seriously though, for what I am getting it is a great deal I think.
