What is the 'best' flipper you have-or are familiar with

I love flippers but so far the only one I'll spend money on is a spyderco southard. I actually bought 2, it's a nice flipper.

Surprised no one mentioned the brous division, I have the large & medium, they are incredible flippers.Kershaw n r g flips real well, too.

I have a lot of production flippers, and there are a lot of nice ones in the bunch but I'm most partial to the Spyderco Southard.

My top 3:

Curtiss F3. Was phenomenal (foolishly sold it and regret it).

Pohan Leu Bluephin. Hard detent but it feels really good once you built up enough pressure.

Brous Blades Silent Soldier. Excellent detent but it's not quite as smooth as I'd like it.

What's the record for opening and closing a knife; 13 times in 30 seconds? For me the Domino "seems" faster than my 0801cf. I'm a gonna get some Little Mermaid bandaids and a timer ...

From my experience with flippers from productions to mid-techs to full customs..... it seems like having the most balanced amount of detent is the key to good flipping action. My hardest firing knife is my Direware hyper 90 because the detent is CRAZY strong. Fast/strongest doesn't mean it's the best though.... it almost feels like it takes too much effort to flip it. My best flipper is the Todd Begg Bodega..... just perfection. Crisp and quick. It doesn't matter if I try to push the flipper hard or soft, it flies out regardless.

I hate to say this because I love Hinderer, but out of all the flippers I've had theirs are probably the "worse". Their intent is for the knife to be able to be deployed via thumbstud, flipper, or gravity so that's why their detent is on the weak side. There is a technique to flip it without using the wrist, but even then it doesn't exactly "fly out".

G&G Hawk S.T.U.D. by far the best flipper knife I own and have ever handled.

Too many to mention, but...Kershaw Skyline, Zing, Volt, any of the Ken Onion & Tim Galyean line up. Hinderer knives makes a great flipper too. If you are interested in true art and mechanically engineered awesomeness, look into some of the higher end balisong knives and even automatics. If a flipper knocks your socks off, these others will simply floor you.

I really love my 0801 and 0801cf, the plain 0801 I've flipped a lot more but the CF in time will loosen up. Also love my 0560

Like Rev said too many to mention but of ones I either own or have owned these are what I would consider some of the best, in no particular order.
Custom- RJ Martin, Ken Onion(love his semi custom ripple), Steve Ryan
Production- ZT801, Hogue EXO2, Hinderer(XM24), Kershaw Shallot, CRK Sebenza(:p, just kidding)
There are a ton more out there I have flipped but these are ones I have experience with.
Cheers

For me it is the ZT 0777 M390. Rock solid flipping action!

I was very impressed with the action of the 0777s I have handled, and thought they flipped with more authority than the 0888. Of the 0888s I have handled they all seemed a little more sluggish. I know that you recently got your hands on an 0888, how do you feel they compare?

Also it's neat to see you on here, you should post more often.
