What is the deal with spyderco?

haha, I actually own a Mini Grip RSK. It's the only Benchmade I'll use bc of that blade. That one follows more spydie-like design, seb too. I just wish it had more of a point. My friend messed it up, time to be send to Benchmade...

 :footinmou  Do I have dajavooooo????????

Cliff,

As a knife tester,
How do you get the knives you test?
Maybe he imagines them into his hands the same way you seem to have done with your beloved Sebenza. :D

Still waiting on the pics!

I would like to take this opportunity to offer my love to you all particularly those having Who carry a spyderco civilian. :D

This is for you baby
With a big wet smooch on your best folder
This is how much I love you.

Compared to Spyderco design, I feel like Benchmade, and most other production companies don't really design their knives for cutting anymore.
Benchmade is much more "tactical" in nature, thicker grinds, heavier edges, black blades, etc. . They do have a few stand out blades cutting wise like the M2 AFCK, and fairly cutting based designs like Ritter RSK. In general though Spyderco is a stand out as more utilitarian. It would be nice to see a M2 Paramiltary though.

Hell, I'd just be happy to find the M2 AFCK. I can't find em anywhere. I settled on D2.

You really can't compare Spyderco with Cold Steel. Spydies are far more impressive, and Spyderco actually has ethics and morals. I have never seen a company so open to customer input, and not just to amuse the consumer. They actually use that input in perfecting their designs. Do your research on the subject, kid. You keep starting these "Sebenzas are better than -name a company-", but why? Opinions are like a$$h0les; everyone has one, and your kind of acting like one. Yes, Sebenzas are great knives, but THE BEST? I don't think so. At least that's MY OPINION. Move on.

Benchmade's blades aren't the best designs for slicing, but the Ritter Grip finally fills that void.

I concur, looks a whole lot like a sebenza, bladewise. :)

This guy seems mildly retarded and is giving Sebenza users/lovers/collectors a bad name...............he needs to walk the plank already, kerplunk!

You havta luv this thread!

I like Microtech and Protech, best knives IMHO.

My Endura, Delica, Ladybug, Native III and Jester are getting angry...

I really hate it when they jump out of my hands.

Sal could probably care less about this bs. As a Spydie fan, I could understand constructive criticism, but this? This is only hurting prospective Spyderco buyers who don't know anything about the brand.

har har har ROTFLMAO
been there done that
PS : I graduated from El Cheapo University. I'll never spend $400+ on a knife unless its attached to a gun.. but I'll spend < $50 without blinking an eye and I could say IMHO that my Spydie Jester has about as much value, and cutting power as anything I've ever seen @ $20 OTD and in its weight class. Dag gummit I want value, and Spydie delivered!
PPS I would not buy a Weatherby either, the ammo is even too costly
PPPS I know this is a knife forum , but.....
PPPPS I can't use anything I can't afford to buy or be afraid of losing and therefore not EDC. Quality at low price = what I will carry

There is all sorts of crap on the internet. If you do a quick run through usenet you are bound to find lots of posts which describe Spyderco's as junk and other extremely informative posts. What you can do to combat this misinformation is to speak out against it when you see it, and of course make quality posts of your own.

Spyderco has far better design than benchmade, and origionality , and vision.

I am just curious - have you ever seen a Benchmade Doug Ritter RSK Mk1?

[you should work on your white balance - your pic is not properly exposed]

Spyderco low on F/F? Yeah bloody right, kid. You show me a folder that works as well as an Endura for the same price, and I'll buy one. They don't exist. Sure, they're not pretty to look at. Neither's my work van. Neither's my drill. But they WORK. And one heckuva lot better than an imaginary Sebenza.
