What is the dumbest comment someone has made about your knife?

Somebody I did not really know once asked me "Why do you carry a girls knife"? because I EDC a Case butterbean sometimes.

My reply was "If you think it's a girls knife, let me cut your F'n throat with it and ask me again"

He didn't ask me again.

Some of you guys are children and really overreact to a dumb comment about your knife.

Someone once asked me if I was a serial killer.

I had my Graham ringed razel and was doing yard work.....

my old boss to me "come to work with that again and ill fire you." i was a cashier and i was opening a a plastic packaged buck knife for an air force guy -- i was using a CRKT M16 (i know, forgive me, this was just at the beginning of my collecting career)

"i have a cool knife (enter smith and wesson all black serrated etc etc.)" i just pull out my BM 710 or skirmish

DUMBEST QUESTION EVER - "do you have a knife, brad?"

You should have said, 'Why yes, I am! And your number is next.' ;)

What is annoying, is when total strangers come up to you and make a comment about you. I was standing outside having a cigarette once, when a total stranger walked up to me and said, "You know that those things will kill you." I responded, "You have clearly mistaken me for someone who wants to live forever."

Here in kentucky I have never seen anyone act surprised when someone pulled out a knife.

But the one that always gets me, and I have heard many times, is "that's too pretty to use" when some is looking at my knives. Like somehow polishing a blade makes it useless.

Never had any comments personally. Canada doesnt seem to have many people who fear knives =)

I hate when people try to tell me that I'm only carrying a knife because it "makes me feel safe" and that, in fact, it "makes everyone else feel uncomfortable". totally ignoring the fact that it is for safety and convenience. Mind you I am 6'5" 300lbs and can carry myself better than the majority of people.

Good to see I am not the only one that gets told that, and it is false for the exact same reason. On occasion, I get asked why I carry a Glock 22 .40 S&W as well, as if my size makes me bullet proof...

LOL, likely the funniest was when my wife asked how many knives and guns I had, and I started counting on my fingers. After a few times through, she said "nevermind"

Give my EDC crap, I'll insult your Mtech.

Why on Earth would you waste your time?

There's nothing wrong with insulting the knife of someone who is disrespectful towards you.

Sure there is....all you're doing is degrading yourself by descending to his level. Why would you care....unless you thought it was true?

+1....maybe you should re-evaluate who you hang out with, and where.

I was at a party tonight, dropped by to return a Buck 110 I sharpened for a buddy. Some girl there proceeded to start a conversation about how everyone else's knives were always dull, and how she found it weird that his was actually sharp.

..the hell? Doesn't it get annoying to always struggle with a dull blade? XD.

I don't think there's anything wrong with insulting someone I they insult you.
"Hey ABA, your knife is utter crap. You wasted your money on that."
Will I respond with "Why thank you."?
No, I won't. When it takes me awhile to save up to buy a knife, you bet your ass I'll be defending it.

Leatherman Wave clipped to my pocket sitting down. Girl next to me looks down at something at sees the clip and the very top of it.

"Are you carrying a weapon!?"

"Nope."

Ok, just tell them that it's their opinion and that people have different things they choose to spend their money on. It's stupid to say you're going to cut their motherfscking throat because they say you have a girl's knife. People that carry knives already have a stigma attached to them, there's no need to confirm it by acting like a douche.

Someone asked me why I carry a knife when they saw me cutting some packages with my SAK. Well, in addition to cutting, I showed them the other functions like the pen and the eyeglass. By the time I got to the bottle opener they thought it was nifty.

Not to me but to a friend from a kid we know.
"a pocket knife why did you bring that here, you going to stab someone?"
He just laughed and said "yeah something like that".
