Yup I've seen this a ton of timesI got a benchmade assisted opening knife sent to work as a trade and proceeded to show ny coworkers over the course of the day. I warned them that the thing fires like a rocket and to hold it firm. Each one tried opening it like a traditional which of course fired it right into one of their palms. Luckily it was just the tip and not that deep. Bum dum tiss

The dumbest thing I saw a non-knife person do is be a non-knife person.
I win, nothing worse.

first: using a hammer (!) for batoning and then the same person used a hammer for batoning again - this time on a hk g3 bayonet - since it did not chop well - you can imagine how the spines of the fixed blade knife and bayonet looked after that
second: wrist flicking my brand new out of the box hinderer xm18 - sent it flying across the living room - hit a glass door and fell onto the stone floor - tip broke off
My brother asked to use my knife.
Why?
He has a splinter and I figured he would use the tweezers.
I gave him a SAK Super Tinker.
Went to the fridge and what do I see.
The main blade glowingRED HOT over the flame on the stove.
What are you doing??????
His response.
I have to sterilize it first :sorrow:
The only good thing about it.
I was going to let him use my BM DeJavoo
