What is the knife you want more than anything, but cannot find?

I've collected knives since I was a kid, but only within the last year has the hobby become a full-blown obsession. So I guess I'm fairly new. I have some Pro-Techs, Benchmades, a Gerber here, CRKT there.

Is it just me, or does everyone have THAT ONE knife they saw somewhere and are consumed with the need to find it? Is that a thing in the knife community? If so, what is it? What's The One you want so bad you'd consider dropping stupid money on?

Here's mine: Boker Burnley Kwaiken Compact Automatic Knife OD Green (3" Copper) Pro-Tech
Apparently it was a BladeHQ exclusive, so chances of it ever materializing seem bleak. Or maybe not. I don't know. I'm starting to suspect the whole "email me when it becomes available" button is there just to collect email addresses.

To increase the chances of finding your BHQ Exclusive Boker, go ahead and type up a Want To Buy post in our WTB sub-forum here at the link I provided for you. And welcome to BladeForums, good luck.

For a while it was a Koenig Aries, I had a chance at a drop on knife center the other day and didn’t have the money. I’d still like to see one in person to check out but hands down it is an Oz Rosie…for table price.

For me, there are two. On the modern side, it would be the CRK large Sebenza in "Glorious". Back in the day, those would be seen routinely on the Bay for like $450, and I just never got around to grabbing one, and then by the time I was like "I need to get one of those before they're gone", a switch had flipped and they had all absolutely vanished. I will probably never see one of those again. Ah well. On the Traditional side, it would be the SFO from C. Risner, a GEC #29 in Coffeehouse Acrylic. Same issue. Used to be around, then by the time I was ready to spend the money, they had all ninja-smokebombed outta here.

Just got one from the exchange...a GEC 53 in chocolate bone. Other than that, I'd say a Case Bose Wilfred hunter and one of those titanium mini grips with the wood inlay.

Plemty of knives I'd really want . . most I vcan find.

Its just that I can't figure out how to get the3 expenditure approved by my wife . . .I really like hot food.

Several models from Chris Reeve Knives; a Sebenza for one. I'd also really like anyone (or several) of the discontinued, hollow handled CRK one piece line. . .. particularly one of the double-edged daggers. They are out there but . . .

I have admired the Darral Ralph desogned Madd Maxx folding daggers, but wow, the price back when, and try to find one now. I bought one of the Camilus licensed clones in 2003 at ~4125, but gifted it to our USMC son before he "surged" into Iraq in 2004. Now they too are outa sight.

Guess I have expensive twist in knives.

I would like to own a classic Italian stiletto switch blade, but not a cheap one . . .does anyone make a high-quality version?

hope this fits the thread.

For me it would probably by a large CRK 21 with an Insigno blade. There was one recently and I did not like the condition.

As far as current production Italian stiletto switchblades, Latama is your best bet for quality. Several are available now. But sometimes they can have issues.

Then there is Renzo Pascotto, an old-world Italian maker. He sometimes produces knives in small batches. His knives are known to be of high quality.

And then there are custom makers like Pat Havlin (AKA Picklock Pat). His Italian-style stilettos are known for their high quality.

And then there is Paul Panak (Burn Knives is his brand name). Although his are a more modern version of the Italian-style stiletto (screw assembly instead of pins).

The Pascottos's, Havlin's, and Panak's can sometimes be found on the second-hand market.

There are Italian makers like Lelle Floris and Antonio Contini (both in Italy) who make custom "stiletto" switchblades, but they have their own style, they don't make the classic "Rebel Without a Cause" style stiletto switchblade, if that's the type you're looking for.

There may be other custom makers out there who produce high-quality Italian-style stiletto switchblades, but not many.

As for the subject of this thread, I can't think of a knife I want "more than anything". I wanted an auto version of a Cold Steel Ti-Lite 6 for several years, but they didn't exist, so finally I made one myself (then several more), so that dream has been fulfilled.

One from the Grahamsville Knife Company.
They were only around for a year or so back around 1880.
But they were only about 3 places up the road from my house!

Whoa! And I thought I'd seen all the knife dealers online. This place has tons of stuff I've never even heard of.

Also: I love this thread so much. Learning about the really special knives... I need to make more money.
