What is the knife you want more than anything, but cannot find?

Busse Steel Heart ergo. Might as well complete the set even though I don’t like that size.

Believe it or not, I’ve pretty much found everything I’ve been after. Some I had been looking for over a decade. A few over two decades. It’s a good feeling, but when I saw the breadth of my collection I wept for there were no knives left to conquer.🤣

I’m pretty well sated, but I never say never.

Do I have to pick just one..?

The CRKT 5250 Nirk Tighe, a Lone Wolf Defender, an original Buck Paradigm (not the latest iterations), a small (4" blade) Cold Steel Paradox with aluminum handles, an AG Russell Sting... These are all knives I've had a chance to acquire but missed out on, and have wanted since! There are others, but these are the most likely to eventually turn up...
You don't mean this Nirk Tighe, do you? Can't be, that's on sale for $60 on Amazon. Very cool-looking though.

That just links me to a google search, but I'm pretty sure what you're seeing are the smaller variants, the Nirk Tighe 2 and Nirk Tighe Green, they're numbered 5240 and 5241... I've got the green one already!

OK . . .pie-in-the-sky . . . .

IOf I won a nice lottery jackpot, I would look for one of the Darrel Ralph made Madd Maxx stilettos with assisted opening.

Scott Cook's Lochsa. I was put on his list, I wanna say around 2010 or 2012. After around 5-6 years of waiting I just kinda gave up. I know I can't afford one on the secondary market.

KJ version was M390 rather than XHP and had a blue ano tint to the Ti. Your pic is the orig. from Spyderco which I’m in dire need of! 🙂
Thank you for the explanation, I learned something new.
Curious fact - I won this knife in Instagram raffle, for $20... I was never interested seriously of it, till I got it and then I understood why people like it so much.
Now it's one of my most valuable knives... I hope you'll find one, unfortunately I'm not selling it...

They do pop up from time to time here, actually I believe I've seen two in the past couple weeks, but they're never cheap, typically in the $600+ range.

Back to the original question, I'm still hunting a BFPU XM-18, I've been cart swiped several times on the Hinderer site but that's as close as I've gotten. But the hunt is a big part of the fun :)

Oddballs are always hard to find and cost more. I was looking for Kershaw Tilt and Tanto Groove for years, few years back I found the Groove in the Bay
and piled up numbers till I won it, it was sub $200 if I remember correctly, not terrible price.
The Tilt I found about 3 years back, from Instagram Seller. Cost me $700... I was glad to pay the price, it was one of my grail knives.

Instagram Seller? There's a knife marketplace on Instagram? Wow, I have so much to learn...

I am looking for a Kershaw 1600RD (red Chive) and Launch 4 auto 7500RDDM or 7500RDBLK. Both appear to be unobtainium.

Honestly I'm not aware of specific marketplace. I did buy few knives from a guy I was following and had very nice experience so I continue the contact.
I really don't remember how I came across the seller of the Tilt, but after we direct messaged some info, I decided he is trustworthy and the whole exchange turned up well.
I got few of my very desired knives, as the Cold Steel original high end Black Sable and Talwar from IG, my Hattamoto came from Europe,
from another great knife forum, along with the old Gunsite tanto Voyager and the SOG Trident and Recon Tanto...
My valuable knives are not necessarily with high monetary value, I just like few models and value the form and function factors,
price don't much matter to me, but I only can pay a price I can afford, so just like everyone else, I got limitations too.
If you are interested, I'll be happy to DM you my IG "connections" so you can check them out once in a while, they are also members here I believe but I don't know their nick names.

That'd be awesome. And that's a great strategy. I'm gonna try that with the Boker I'm looking for!

My Kuzan Oda tanto that was incinerated when my house burned, along with a S&W Bodyguard so old that it had no model number.

For reference (for as long as it's on the web), it's this knife: https://www.arizonacustomknives.com/products/1054124/

I would accept a similar knife from another maker if it's ~$200 or less. While the edge-holding ability of the original was outstanding, a knife like this doesn't need a super-steel as it would only be used once (and I hope, not even once). It's the best design of a compact defensive fixed blade I've seen, you really have to hold a knife of this pattern to grasp its value. It's a shame (for us) that he moved to Japan and now only makes bespoke katanas, the USA lost a major talent when that happened.
