What is the most expensive knife that you actually use.

Strider SMF #39.
Although lately I have been carrying some production Emersons and trying to decide whether or not to pursue a custom.

I have a Mike Obenauf knife that is due in in a couple of weeks that I will carry.

I also have a umber of slipjoints that go in the pocket.

The only expensive knife that I have babied is a Ray Coon all damascus folder.

I do have one very expensive diving knife hand made by Mike England who has now passed away. I still use it even though it is worth about a grand now. Thing is I paid $275. I bought it to use it and didn't know about Mike then. I use it when I go kayaking or canoeing or to the ocean to scuba. But here lately since finding out what it is worth I've been contemplating retiring it.

I carry and use a Ralph/Wison Combat Elite I on a regular basis. I believe that it ran around $250 when purchased on the exchange forum. I have not brought myself to carry or use the Elite II that I aquired around the same time.

Are you satisified with your Crain knife? I would like to order one and was wondering if it is a well made knife capable of hard use?

I carry an $800 pearl inlay Darrel Ralph Madd Maxx sometimes, but it gets babied.
"Really use" I'd say the Tai Goo bush Bowie, that was around $700 and I've already hacked down a few trees with it. I did some cutting with a $1000 Bowie to see how well it cut. When carrying a knife like that in the woods I'm not worried about scratching it up or breaking it, but having it confiscated by some overzealous official.

Carry and use all but one of my knives and the one not used (BK&T Magnum Camp - discontinued) is the cheapest! :D
The most expensive is this Jens Ansø "Porcupine" dagger (~$ 430,-)

Although mostly carried and used around the house, it has been out on occasion! Even used in the kitchen!
My EDC's are two other Anso's; a Small Sheepsfoot and a Nasty Necker + a Busse Assault Shaker

Bo Hansen

I bought this knife in March of '03 and never used it. Then, I got deployment orders to Iraq. I decided then and there that I Needed to take the Ovation with me, because I told Ron when I bought it it was gonna be my EDC. So Far I hadn't lived up to my word.

Well, I found an old Gerber nylon pouch that I could carry the Ovation in, either on my LBE or my DCU belt. I took it with me and used it every day. It is truly an AWESOME knife.

BTW, why is it a 2 speed? Check with Ron. Why is it a lefty? Because I'm a Lefty. What is the price? Again check with Ron. Mine has antique tortise shell which from what I understand will not be used again on the Ovation

I can honestly say this is the best folder I have ever had the pleasure of owning. I will pass it down to my son one day and tell him that it is the knife I carried every day in the Global War on Terror. It is Combat Proven!

Thanks for listening,
Gary

I have a Bowie knife in front of me that I've used around the yard, and then I saw one JUST LIKE IT at a gun show for $900.00. I stopped using it then. The most expensive one I use (Although not everyday.) Is My $86 Western W-49 Bowie knife.

Walter

My most expensive user is my Spyderco G-10 Police (in my pocket right now).
I paid about 120.00 for it at Smokey Mt. Knives.

Allen.

My most expesive user is my most expensive knife: a CUDA Maxx Stilleto. I hope to get a Battle Rat Tactical from SRKW, and it will be about $200, and be a user. Not real expensive, but expensive enough for a teenaged knife knut! :)

Thor

All my knives are users: the least expensive knife in my rotation is a Mnandi, the most expensive is a TNT.
