What is the most expensive knife you bought that you didn't like?

A while back I bought a 3" XM-18 and found it a little small for my tastes. Was still a great knife though.

hmmm... i always thought people know what they want and know what they pay for. but then, most of you are talking with learnings curves in mind, right? no one's born an expert.

I didn't like my BM Vex because it was too bulky, too heavy, and had a poorly ground edge...and I love most all BMs.

Landi Carbon Fiber handled Bull Maverick. The grind and satin finish was wonderful. However, I had to sand heat treat residue out of the jimping and the fit and finish on the CF handles was quite rough compared to the CF I've seen on production knives (there were little pits and splinters in areas of the handles). Should have gotten the milled G10 handles instead. The sheath seemed a little flimsy compared to the one that came with my Landi Snake Bull. Sold it at a loss.

Now if there were expensive knives I traded for, I absolutely detested the Emerson Super Karambit I picked up. For a knife that sells for 220-250$, it was a letdown. Quality was nowhere near other knives selling for the same price.

Sometimes people jump on knives over the internet and barely know what to expect when it arrives.
Especially if there are no serious knife dealers in their area.

here...here... on the SOG flash! I have gotten better blades for less $ off gas station counters.

T-Mag. Good idea, superb fit & finish but I don't care if you found magnets from a soaring comet the lockup was worse than a dimestore slippie.

By far it was a hinderer XM18. Nice knife but a very soft detent and off centered blade was a big miss for the price.

not an expensive knife but sog vulcan. impossible to open in a timely manner and deployment ALWAYS seems awkward. i need to trade that knife--lol.

Probably.....uhhh I actually dont know, I have liked most of my pruchases.

yojimbo 2, compression lock pinched my hand everytime I opened it and the tip was so frail looking. Flipped it the next day.

After owning several Sebenzas I tried an Umnumzaan. I didn't care much for it and sold it. :(

Emerson cqc-15 - just wasnt happy
crk unnumzaan- umm it was nice but not for me really
microtech whale shark
para military 2
bm adamas and grip

all amazing knives. honestly the best of the best but after trying to carry them for a few weeks i always found myself back at the old trusties. something about the full size military for lighter edc and my SMF for pretty much everything else keeps me happy. i havent been able to kick those out of my pockets yet
