What is the sharpest knife you own?

Fixed blade: (I was very surprised by this but) 1st production run with N690 steel Benchmade Offsider followed by my SOG Tech Bowie Special Edition and then my Ranger RD6

Folder: (Very close) Spyderco Manix, Spyderco Native and Ontario Hossom Retribution I

Spyderco Sharpmaker

at the time my Fällkniven H1 with VG-10, but have high hopes for my Emerson commander with 154cm, just bought it and im regrinding at right now.. my first chissle grind so i dont know how it preforms

Easily the sharpest would be any of my japanese slicing knives. Edge geometry > all. As far as non kitchen knives R.J. Martins blades get shaper than anything I have encountered. May be people getting them just as sharp as him but I would doubt they are getting any sharper. :p

My sharpest knife is always my EDC right after I sharpen it. My EDC for quite a while (over a year) has been a B. Goode "Civilian" that is made out of O-1 tool steel. Carbon steels are a breeze to sharpen on my Sharpmaker followed by a leather and/or cardboard stropping, plus it's flat ground and holds an edge forever.

1. Buck 703 (especially the clip point blade).
2. Buck 112.

This is out of a modest collection of about 25 knives, mostly Case, Opinel, Buck, and Victorinox. I use a Sharpmaker mostly nowadays, but these two Bucks were also the sharpest when I did them freehand.

Sharpest: Small Regular Sebenza. Amazing how it holds its edge and stays sharp even after months of use.

Contrary to what many of you are saying here.. my Spyderco Delica 4 was by far the dullest knife I ever bought, even when it was brand new out of the box. I just don't understand how you guys can consider that sharp.

Sharpest toothy edge: Benchmade 32 Morpho in D2
Sharpest polished edge: Large Micarta Sebenza in S30V

However, my Sebenza seems to lose it's scary sharp edge fairly quickly (begins to slide down the back of my hair when I do the hair test), but stays decently sharp forever. Anyone have anything to say about this? Has anyone noticed similar behavior?

I just received a BM 610 Rukus this past weekend and it is the sharpest BM I have ever received! As far as I can tell it is the sharpest knife I have ever received. The flat grind really helps this knife, but the first one I had received was not as sharp as this was is. It is also "sharp" in that I ordered a pair of the ivory micarta grips with it and with them in place it is one sweet and sharp looker!!! :D

My BG-42 Military is the sharpest knife I own. Got it in ridiculously sharp condition, wore it down and gave it a few strokes on the brown stones and its right back to deadly skin ripping utility edge.

My sharpest knife currently is my Spyderco Manix. <snip>

I was amazed at the factory sharpness that my Military and Manix had when I first got them. It is so easy to keep the sharpness with the Sharpmaker. I think the steel the knives are made of is at the heart of the knives ability to keep it's edge.

My Severtech is as sharp a knife as any I own when it has a fresh edge. I hope to own a Tai Goo blade one day. I have never seen any blade sharper than Tai's. He does some wild tricks with those edges.

you might think im crazy but my $30 browning ice storm sx in vg-10 is probably mine. out of the box it was just nasty sharp!

It's a close competition between my Buck Mayo 172 and one of my Bark River knives. The 172 was sharpened on x-fine DMT followed by stropping on green compound, and the Bark River was sharpened entirely on strops.

And another contender is one of my Eye Brand stockmans, it has been completely convexed and stropped. Amazing edge.

But let's not mention my straight razors....

Probably NOT the sharpest knife in the house but the first thing it did out of the box was to scratch my side as I tried out Emerson's patented wave feature. Emerson 2006 Commander BTS w Wave.

My old Schrade single blade pocket knife gets scary sharp. Runing my finger over it, it tries to suck me in, the blade acts like a strong magnet to a piece of iron. Cuts through most everyday things without much resistance.

The dullest is an old wood handled folder "ATCO" - Italy, the second two inch blunt blade (I think it's a flathead screwdriver) has written on it, "TO RELEASE PUSH CENTER LOCK CLEAR". Of course the center lock doesn't. The real blade is serated from use, there isn't a straight unchiped section of that blade, bumpy. Probably sharpened on any convenient concrete wall, floor or stanchion. RETIRED.

Beretta Warren Thomas Avenger in VG-10.
Chisel edge tanto made in Seki City Japan.

Sharper than my Spydercos (!!!) including the Ronin,
sharper than my Mcustas...

It's the sharpest production knife I've ever owned.

My good ole' Mora's always prick me with the slightest touch so I'll have to say Mora's are my sharpest.

Spyderco's and some of my customs come in a close second and stay sharp longer.

Testing through performance my Anza hunter, even better than others I have such as benchmade 210 or any of my Buck 110's even better than my customs
