What is the sharpest knife you own?

My Bark river knives tied with my Marble's. Since they were both built under the supervision of Mike Stewart, that would make sense.

Probably Mora 510 or Opinel #7. Both get scary sharp. My Tora bushcraft was easily the sharpest thing I've ever used when I first got it, but I haven't been able to re-achieve that previous level of sharpness since then. I suck at convex.:(

What methods have you been using SP?

Everything I could find for a while, then I gave up since it's pretty much my only convex blade. It started as fine sandpaper with various supports (like a book, mousepad, cardboard, etc.) then to leather. I haven't had the time with school to get a leather compound to make what Mike Stewart recommends. Hopefully during winter break or next summer I can give it another shot, I don't like not being able to maintain a blade.

That was actually going to be my next step when I move to Defcon 3. I hear that Harbor Freight has one for around $40, and there's one in town.

Two words. Belt sander.

As long as i've been hand sharpening, at least 35 years, no way can I get a knife as sharp as I can on the belt grinder. Right now I use scotchbrite belts. I just ordered a 2 x 72 leather belt. It should be interesting to see how much difference it will make on a convex edge.

That makes me feel a lot better! :D

My Mora #1 I could get away using it to shave my face. Very close second would be my Collin axe.

Hiroo Itou fixed blade 6-inch that i got from him at the Seki Knife Show around 1998. So sharp that I leave it alone in a separate drawer. Itou-san is a wizard.

I noticed today that JapaneseChefsKnife is completely sold out of Itou stuff, which is little surprise at the time of year. http://www.japanesechefsknife.com/Page3.html

Guys,
My zdp caly jr. is the sharpest knife I have heard of. I tell you, sometimes I dream and wake with a cut. It is seriously a pocket laser.:)

The excalibur judge that my mum carries .. I just sharpened it for her

then my Okapi I guess ... been a few weeks since I sharpened it tho , and its been getting some ugly usage so its likely lost its shaving edge ...

My Benchmade Griptilian 551 satin straight edge model. Thin blade as it is, then combined with my diamond rod it is unstoppable!!!

ps. my 300 POST!!! *pat on my own back*

the sharpest knife i own is this little necker made by fellow forumite butcher_block. A great knife that i carry everyday

and a pic of a nice little bite i got from it one night, still have a tiny little scar.

Seeing as I just catalogued half of my knives and sharpened them after I'd say my sharpest is a 130 way tie for first!! Followed by the same number in second place (not too sharp yet).

Easiest to get sharp would be Opinel, Spyderco Centofante4, Old Timer slipjoint, or X2 Voyager- based on touching them up on the Sharpmaker.

Sadly the few customs I have received (with the exception of NWA's Survival Forum Knife) have needed reprofiling to get them to cut.

All of my knives are very sharp.

However these 2 are the most.

Have to be very careful with them
