What is your EDC and Outdoors Small Utility Folder? Is it the same?

EDC for me is a SAK Huntsman or Farmer in a sheath on my belt and always is a Spyderco Native in my pocket. Now if I were in the woods, i would always have a Rat3 on my side in place of the Farmer or Huntsman and put the Farmer or Huntsman in my pocket.

I just ordered one of the nice-looking (on the web site, anyway) leather sheaths to carry a Huntsman, Hiker or Farmer. I got the one that included the small sharpening steel. I'm thinking the sheath will make it more likely I'll try to EDC the SAK. I hate having one in my pocket; too bulky.

Stay sharp,

I EDC a full size Ritter Grip. In the city or in the bush, it is always with me. Nice to see I'm not alone in that choice :D

Yep. Carry the same couple of folders everywhere...

  • SAK Executive (love the scissors!)
  • CRK Umfaan
When I know I'm headed outside for a longer time (hiking, camping, hunting, etc.) then I'll add...

  • Leatherman SuperTool
  • Fixed blade (Dozier Yukon Pro Skinner, Simonich Talonite Cetan, etc.)
Happy trails!

Hey desmobob, wow that is a coincidence, I just ordered a leather pouch with sharpening steel for my Huntsman also. Ha, go figure. I guess we were thinking the same thing. I like the Idea of the sharpening steel with my pouch and I wanted a leather pouch because of the pouch that came with the Huntsman, I just didnt trust. It was leather with elastic sides. If those elastic side stitching came lose, well I would lose my beloved Huntsman.

SAK Electrician Plus for EDC and add a mora 780 and 12" Ontario 'chete when I go to the woods--KV

For work/school days I usually EDC two knives, my alox cadet and my spyderco scorpius. For the woods I usually have an alox SAK (could be the cadet), a larger folder (spyderco pacific salt or BM 550 Grip) and a fixed blade. I don't see myself taking my scorpius into the woods, most likely because I like my larger folders and can't carry them in Detroit due to the 3" ordinance.
