What is your favorite military issued knife

Danish model 1915 bayonet.jpg

Anyone for Danish? This the Danish (Denmark) model 1915 bayonet. It was issued for the 1889 Krag Jorgensen rifle.

OK, not2sharp not2sharp , VERY nice selection of military bladeware. Of that, there is no doubt. But, in keeping with the spirit of the thread, which one is your FAVORITE?

What were they saying about this knife in the video? It looked like they were comparing it to an Ontario USMC knife at one point. In some ways it resembles the Glock Field Knife, except with leather washers for the handle.

long story short,
parameters concerning the ideal dimensions for their specific use.
and the comparative test of Charon vz. 99 of steel 14260 in comparison with the new Charon vz. 20 made of premium powder steel K-390.

Certainly, the Smatchet and many of its predecessors, like the French 1816 and 1831 or the Ames 1832 and British Welch sword of WWI are near the top. I am also impressed by the design of the Imperial folding machete and would love to see that reborn as a flagship Busse or Becker folding knife, as the design could easily compliment either brand.

But, the thread is still young and there are as yet many more knives for us to look at and admire.

I dunno, the question of favorite military issue seems to give way to sheer fascination, both for history and the weapons themselves. For instance, I'm amused at the weapons those fine people, the British, issued or sold to native Americans for the purpose of fighting or scalping French and other enemies of the empire. Below are actual specimens:

This is another fun piece. It is a Swedish 1896 bayonet. It is an early example of the modern knife bayonet. Back during the survival knife craze, these were sometimes converted into "survival knives" by cutting off the rear pommel ring and latch and covering the hollow handle tube with a crutch tip.
