They will. Military knives is a broad subject and hopefully we will all get to see many popular as well as interesting and relatively unknown examples.

For now I wanted to mention a more recent example. The Benchmade Presidio 5000, which has been issued during the present Iraq war.

It is time to add another great American Bolo knife. The Engineers Bolo evolved out of out experience in the Philippines during the Spanish American War. Although the design was known as the 1005 Collins, there appears to have been two makers. Collins was the primary one, making them with green horn or wood scales, and these are clearly marked, but there was an entirely unmarked version, which also shares the same Colllin's sheath.

British WW1 trench raiding weapons
Most of those look like the Billhooks the British “lay” hedges with. Although I’m sure they would have been useful in a trench. I doubt they were issued.

If you google British hedge knife that exact image pops up first and brings you to the Wikipedia page for Billhooks.

My Camillus USA electrician's knife that I got in the Navy. Yes, I was a bonafide Navy electrician and we used our knives from time to to time to the chagrin of our superiors and inspectors. It was one of three knives that electricians on my boat carried: a pocket knife, a large fixed blade on the hip, the Camillus, and usually a multitool. Come to think of it, I haven't seen that electrician's knife since I moved.

Actually British soldiers were issued with loads of billhooks in France. For utility, of course. They're the British version of the tropical bolo. But then, the Brits were obviously comfortable enough to use them in CQC. Billhooks were used in warfare since the medieval ages.

Makes sense. Thanks.

What were they saying about this knife in the video? It looked like they were comparing it to an Ontario USMC knife at one point. In some ways it resembles the Glock Field Knife, except with leather washers for the handle.

I got a rough translation off of Google. He is saying, "I love you, knife. I want to marry you. But that would be weird, yes?"

Pretty sure that's close.
